The talks have already taken place. The approach is for his services

except going to a bigger club?
By:
A Slightly* bigger club. With worse players, critical fan's, old dead wood players, why would he put himself in that situation. He's bought good young players for norwich and we'll want to stick with them. He would of seen how bad villa were when his Weakened Norwich team beat them last game of the season he's not stupid he would'nt go there it's a fact
By:
Double his salary?
By:
Can Norwich pay £24 million for a player?
By:
villa cant now, thats why MON spewed it.
By:
Even if they could Lambert would'nt. That's what dumb people like you don't understand he doesnt go out and buy big names or big price players from abroad he shops in the lower league's and gives them a chance. Norwich also have money now so he's gona stay unless some one big comes in. Sorry Villa fans your gona have to look elsewhere
By:
If Lambert left for Villa he would be a mug.Lambert is no mug but,MONEY TALKS

I support Arsenal you ice cream. Your obv a Villa fan, you'd be lucky to get Mick McCarthy mate...

Villa = much bigger club, better training facilities, better youth squad, better team in general, a sane chairman! Why would anyone choose Norwich over Villa?
You can't look at the last 2 years, we have massively under achieved! We are a top 10 club for sure, we were top 6 with O'neill and 2 extra players (Young and Milner)! A decent manager with good ATTACKING tactics is what this club needs! |
By:
He won't go to Aston, its a complete sh1thole with mugs all over the place.
Norfolk > Aston |
By:
Neil Moxley @Neil_Moxley_DM
#avfc have briefed this week that manager w/b in place by the w\end. Ergo expect any negs with Lambert to be swift. |
By:
I think it's quite obvious talks are at an advanced stage and the "approach" is us basically telling Norwich we're having your manager now lets sort out the paperwork.
By:
Agree ala Rodgers/Liverpool move it looks like most of the work has been done already.
By:
Rumblings Lambert may resign if Norwich don't cooperate fully. Looks like he's going to Villa one way or another.
By:
peter lansley @LansleyTimes
Paul Lambert walks out on #ncfc after bust up on being refused permission to talk to #avfc who will now look to appoint him as new manager |
By:
Who's peter lansley?
By:
never mind
By:
A few sources now claiming this to be true. Looking truly NAILED ON for Villa now, unless Villa don't want him anymore! lol
By:
I doubt he'd leave unless a deal was done! Love it when people get proved wrong lol!
By:
Wasn't aware but he walked out on Colchester as well? This guy's a G. lol
By:
Anyone else confirming this? Surely this reporter wouldn't release a statement like that if it wernt true?
By:
Lambert has just resigned as Norwich manager: confirmed
By:
confirmed where?
By:
I think he just wrote confirmed himself.
![]() Reporter for Sun who ran with this tweeting and seems pretty confident. Other dodgier twitter sources echo this story. |

appointing mcleish makes him look like a insane chairman

American ownership has never really caught on, imo.
For the money they've invested between them (Gillet, Hicks, Lerner, Short, FSG etc) they've had very little return. I'd throw the Glazer's in, but I'm not sure they've ever really spent any of their own cash? All successful businessmen - makes you wonder why they hoy money at a sport they know nothing about. |

is this canaryboy, by any chance?

You can´t just say that Villa are not a big club because they finished below Norwich. Norwich are newly promoted, Villa are in forth position for the most trophies won by any english club, 1 of 22 teams that have won Europes most important trophy, are one of only a handful of teams that have done the double. This is big club history, goldfish brains are just looking at the 2011-2012 season. On that basis if Norwich finished in the top 4 I would assume they would start calling them a big club.
By:
Well said Soup or Stew we had the same when Darren Bent left Sunderland for us .. people don't realise how big a club Villa are.
By:
norwich are a waking midget
By:
people just don't have a clue about football! They just look a current league standings in which case we will be 2nd when the season starts in alphabetical order........now we must be a big club!!

I'm a Norwich fan and I accept the writing is on the wall. It'd be difficult for him to come back now. I'm not sure if he wold have gone before the Norwich board refused him permission to speak to the Villa. Now, of course, I'm a Norwich fan so I'm going to want him to stay, and I'm going to say that he'd be crazy to go to the Villa which is a bigger club, granted, but not a happy one and not one that performs.
I did like the comment that the Villa have a 'sane' chairman! Remind me who appointed their biggest rival's boss their own? And remind me, how successful was it? |
