early today bbc pundit danny mills bemoaned the fact that in his day you needed 3 consistent seasons of good improving play before england came calling,nowadays 3 good games even 3 good halves or 3 good touches gets you an england shout,100% correct

Danny Mills isn't really well placed to make such a remark. Presumably he therefore thinks Rooney, Gerrard or Ferdinand should have waited 3 years before winning a cap.
