Gotta be said. Altitude. Going for home team. As much as I like U. De Chile.

Love UDC, they are heroes, but not at big altitude.. Iroincailly, the stadiu they play in... Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa... is also the home of El Nacional, and the colmbian Universidad Catolica!... Strange.

Altitude of 2.850....

overs and 1-1. Does the altitude really make a difference?
By:

When: 03 May 12 22:05
About 2000 more metres than what UDC usually play at.
By:
Mike-lfc
When: 03 May 12 22:08
3-0 imo. Then 2nd leg 4-0 UDC.
By:

so if you are playing at a higher altitude thats a disadvantage?
By:

When: 03 May 12 22:11

Think about England moaning about the Altitude in the world cup.  1753 m above sea-level and this place is like 3000m. So it must be quite bad.

Gonna be some game, Home team dont even concede at home really and Chille rarely concede away and score alot so who knows both teams could cancel eachother out our could be a goal blitz

I dunno...I've been mountain hiking over 3000m and I can't say I felt any different.

Not the same as running around for 90 minutes, granted.

Now, if the match was being played at 6000m it would be a full bank job on the home team......

Didn't UdC beat LDU in Quito in the final of the Sudamericana last year? Wouldn't completely write them off just because of the altitude.

Yeh 1-0. But Vargas played who was there best player and he's gone and also there nor as good as Deportivo.

Common of course altitude is a big factor, they struggle in away games and are a beast playing home, high there in the mountains.

Guadalajara Chivas    1-1    Deportivo Quito
Deportivo Quito    5-0    Guadalajara Chivas

Vélez Sársfield    1-0    Deportivo Quito
Deportivo Quito    3-0    Vélez Sársfield

Club Libertad    4-1    El Nacional Quito
El Nacional Quito    1-0    Club Libertad (same stadium)

A decent bet on Quito for me and a small bet on draw HT Quito FT

With the tempo that UDC play at, i can see them struggling in the 2nd half, probs 1-0 maybe even 2-0
Wont be enough though,UDC will maul them in the 2nd leg.

La U is my favorite team in south america but no bet for me here.

Looks like they hardly miss Vargas at all really. Hasn't affected them at all from what I've seen.

Would also disagree with Deportivo being a better team than LDU.

Yes scaredmoney, I also think they will beat the ***t out of Deportivo on the 2nd leg.

Think U De Chile are a great price.

Played in Quito November time vs LDU and won (if i recall 1-0?). LDU beat all comers last year at home.

Altitude not a bigger factor as everyone thinks. Price on La U very generous imo... coming off the derby win last weekend, they will be more than up for this

so not every 1 on the goal train , general consensus UDC to limit their losses tonight and try take it home in the 2nd leg

So basically anything could happen.
By:

LDU didn't beat all comers... Velez beat them 2-0 as well at LDU.

I love UDC and the price is quite nice but personally I only invest in them when they are at home

U De Chile score goals for fun at home. Surely the Quito will be looking to score as many as they can 1st leg

Anything could happen tonight - I'll be playing a watching and waiting game for a bit.

Second leg is a full bank job though.

I think lay universidad de chile is the way to earn some money.

quito has proven to be difficult to beat at home.

universad de chile won't mind with to lose 1-0 or 2-1

universidad de chile will beat deportivo quito at home easily.

They beat Velez at LDU... i watched every game of the Sud from the quarters, LDU were the worst team i ever seen play.. their 1-0 win in the last min v Libertad in the quarter final from a cross was a personal betting low Cry
