Juventus just beat for a over 2 Grand on a 6 timer. Totally gutted. Feel like chucking it. Nor because the bet went down but the way it happened. 1-0 up against a pub team playing with 10 men, with a win virtually securing the title, and they shut up shop for a 1-0 win. 4 minutes to go and defender passes back to goalkeeper and what does the "great" Buffon do? Kick it up the field? No, takes an unecessary touch 5yds from his goal line and loses the ball to Lecce sub who puts it in the net.  DevilDevil

I'm with you pal - had a 6-fold taken down by FC Twente tonight. they were 2-0 up after 20mins , then they let the mug team put 4 past them!
FC Twente are very special : they have done me as many times as Lanus.

I lost about £400-00 in a 6 timer on Juventus. But to make matters worse I lost £440-00 in a £200-00 eight timer,8 correct score lays as For some strange reason layed Parma 3-1.Both bets were good 10 minutes from time & then tits up in a couple of minutes.
That's Italian football for you.
I did get half my money back though on an over 3-5 Barca + 2-5 goals Real double though.

Cheers guys, like minded people understand. Hard luck Punkha and Desperatemunter too, feel for you both. Like I said, it`s not the fact that they drew but the manner in which it happened. Typical Italian mentality. Shut up shop for a 1-0 win. 10 men Lecce could have played there all night and never have scored but for that clown Buffon gifting them the goal. If you never saw the match you should check it out and see what I mean.

coachbuster, 2 reasons why I didn`t lay off.

1. No money in BF
2. I still had 3 games to finish after the Juve match.
Report themightymac May 2, 2012 11:36 PM BST
tough luck realdeal, glad you at least got your money back though.

Nothing wrong with accas.....but you will have to accept the fact that 1 letting you down for a nice payout is an occupational hazard......the most vivid memory of one for me was Goater missing a pen for Man City in the last minute years ago which had it gone in, would have netted a very nice £6k !!

That 'mug' team Heereenveen have the best away record and most goals on the road in the entire dutch league.
Twente are the mug team at the moment, McLaren has them lower in the table now than when he took over at xmas.

IMO if the odds on each selection represent value (exactly how that is determined is another topic) then there's no logical reason that an Acca is a mug bet.

The reality is probably that the vast majority of mug bets are not on value selections (people betting on books that are 120%, 130%....) therefore an acca is viewed as even more of a waste of money because it contains multiple poor value selections. I.e. usually loses & doesn't return nearly enough to make the losers worthwhile on the occasions that it wins.

Personally I have nothing against the occasional double although it's extremely rare for me to ever bet trebles or higher. (mainly because it's almost unheard of for me to fancy 3+ selections simultaneously AND for the best odds to all be with the same bookie)

yes indeed, thoroughly lazy selection on my part.

Yeah no point dwelling mate happens to all of us just absolutely sickening to take when its such alot of money but every bet I lose I still see as abit of a learning curve (only been on here 6 weeks) but still sure wont take long to get that back if you bet right with the high stakes you must use! :)

So if you back draws in all Serie A matches you'd make a profit?
Report viva el presidente! May 3, 2012 12:24 PM BST
tough luck mate, that's italian football for you.

the problem with (eg) 6-folds is, you're six times as likely to have one leg let you down as to win.

so they're a passport to exasperation really.
Report themightymac May 3, 2012 8:19 PM BST
Cheers Mr President.

Liverpoolunited - not after timing mate, how could I say they beat me for 2 grand before the games finished? Was merely disgusted, nor because the bet lost, but the manner in which it lost.

For anybody who never saw the game here`s a good laugh, honestly, one couldn`t make it up!
