Report kenilworth May 1, 2012 9:24 AM BST
I would think Jimmy Bullard would be bored with any training session.
Report Biscuit1979 May 1, 2012 9:26 AM BST
Knew him growing up and we played for the same kids team and let's face it the guy's got the attention span of a goldfish. He'd find training sessions run by Mourinho and Maradona boring. All he's interested in these days is another night out.
Report duncan idaho May 1, 2012 9:27 AM BST
when the deep-thinking Jimmy 'the Secret Footballer' Bullard speaks, it pays to listen Crazy
Report Regular Fries May 1, 2012 9:27 AM BST
By all accounts Hodgson's training methods are all about keepinng your shape and working on drills, which will indeed be boring for the players, but if it gets them results I'm sure they won't have a problem with it.

Redknapp's never taken a training session whilst he's been at Spurs.
Report degsy42 May 1, 2012 9:29 AM BST
keep your shape , ie dont eat too many burgers and run round them cones a few times
Report Dylan1975 May 1, 2012 9:30 AM BST
heard the same from the Liverpool players.

Also if the secret to Hodgsons "success" is repition of drills then you have to wonder how effective he can be with England since he'll have the players for a limited time.
Report DIE LINKE May 1, 2012 10:08 AM BST
The England players are going to be even more bored when they spend 90 minutes without the ball.
Report ShaneESP May 1, 2012 10:18 AM BST
It's not something that need to concern Bullard really is it

"Right I want you ten in our half, with the fat, bald lad up front on his own. Lets have 90 minutes of launching it at him."
Report rogerthebutler May 1, 2012 10:37 AM BST
Hopefully it will mean the end of attempting to shoehorn Gerrard and lampard into the same team, which has basically meant a write off of the last 10 years of England performing well at international level.

I have a feeling some of the call ups to the squad will be interesting. Bullard may well regret that outburst Laugh

Report songsforthedeaf May 1, 2012 1:23 PM BST
I hope he can make it work - but he has limited time with the players and a dressing room full of egos.

If any of the players cant be bothered following his instructions or dont put 100% in, then I hope Woy doesnt play them. Bring in younger blood who have something to prove. We dont need Terry, we dont need Gerrard or Lampard, we need a team that is at least the sum of its parts.

Now without the Liverpool players and their bullying wrecking team spirit I reckon our chances are good. I reckon we have a Better chance than Spain in the euros

Report G Hall May 1, 2012 6:18 PM BST
As an Irishman who has got a lot of comedy value out of England at major championships over the years,I think that the appointment of Hodgson could give England their best opportunity of winning a major tournament since 1966.

Hodgson will play to win the tournament, that is not entertain, but to play defensive and nick a victory or at worst a draw preferrably 0-0 (couldn't resist that bit).

England have the players defensively to stifle good opposition, and the offensive players who have the quality to score against any opposition.

So despite the negativity,I think England have a realistic chance of winning the Euro's,we may be all asleep when/if it happens though!

Breaking news!  It doesn't matter who the England manager is, we are at best a quarter final team, maybe if we get lucky a semi final..and thats yer lot.
Report Mr.Angry May 1, 2012 8:16 PM BST
There's not a lot between all the top teams.  Probably Spain and Brazil still slightly ahead.  But over knockout rounds anything can happen.  Having a well organised team is not a bad option (eg: Italy).
