Report pushkin99 April 27, 2012 6:21 PM BST
is this a bot or a bookie trying to hoover up 'free money'? Who has the capacity to risk so much for so little gain - even if you think the result is a foregone conclusion?

Imagine the blokes reaction when he is looking at a screen with £165K RED on a horse that is trading odds on seconds later

Report tobermory April 27, 2012 6:25 PM BST
someone with fast pictures Pushkin

Sees the jockey is coming off, so it is out of the race and can be safely layed at 1000, thats why the guy with regular pictures is asking for 2.1 as he hasn't seen the incident yet.

Not seen it yet but apparently jockey hung on like a rodeo rider and got back in the saddle
Report desperatemunter April 27, 2012 6:26 PM BST
but yes - as u say , 'Imagine the blokes reaction' : that is worth thinking about for a moment
Report scaredmoney April 27, 2012 6:27 PM BST
Jockey was chucked out the side door and was hanging onto the horses neck, side ways on!!

Was an amazing recovery

they don't void those no

The big void was the guy who put up a  £21,000,000 lay .That was as he only had a few hundred in his account and it was system screw up
Report Fraz040783 April 27, 2012 7:10 PM BST
Wow! Unbelievable tekkers by the jockey. Tough luck to the punter but like everyones already said why the hell would you punt £165k only to win £165...crazy. Fair play to him tho got to have some serious nuts to even contemplate that bet! Here I am brickin' it over a £5 flutter on Jason Dufner in the golf, lol!
Report AKPunter April 27, 2012 7:12 PM BST
if you have £165k why in gods name would you lay for £165! madness, more money then sense.

i was trying to back a snoopy loopy @ 7.8 for €8 a couple of years ago IR. got matched at 130.0 and it won, looked for 3.6 on strong suit for €25 and it was matched @ 26.0.  these fast pic in running guys get it right more often than wrong, but when it goes wrong, your balls have been replaced with a purple sack of agony.
Report starfish and coffee April 27, 2012 7:42 PM BST
The guy that laid the 165 at 1000 does it every race where there is a faller. He has been scooping up to £500+ every time a horse falls. That is why he had the £165k in his bank to start with. Will probably still be in front long term.

Report tobermory April 27, 2012 7:52 PM BST
Sort of error that rarely happens, long odds that 2 people simultaneously made the same blunder

No doubt there were many about to submit the bet , but they were waiting to see the jockey hit the floor

I suppose one of the frustrations of this sort of betting is some other guy with fast pics beating you to the free money, this bloke wanted to make sure he was in first
Report Postman Pat April 27, 2012 7:58 PM BST

one hell of a recovery though .
horse was in 3rd when he righted himself
Report Gibbo99 April 27, 2012 8:10 PM BST
Greedy and lazy gambling. Deserved it IMO and would have known the risks. Funniest thing would be his face as the rider righted himself and the horse was just lobbing along in third on the bit near the home straight. Brown trousers x 1000.

Matt Chapman is a well known fast pic thief. But cant imagine its just one guy, there's loads of them at it.

Let's be honest, they are clearing up £1-4,000 a day so its a bad day at the office but no worse.
