Seems odd that Robben took the penalty in the game and scored but yet didn't take one in the shoot out, any explanation?

who already scored in the game? so what's your problem - he did his job, 2 penalties in one game is mentally difficult, ask cr9
Report 50-500 April 25, 2012 10:46 PM BST
yep they took 5
Report Regular Fries April 25, 2012 10:46 PM BST
He didn't need to take one.
Report 50-500 April 25, 2012 10:47 PM BST
and thats rubbish, just because it would have been his second pen doesn't make it any more difficult, if anything it makes it easier because he's more confident
Report mistersjmcg April 25, 2012 10:49 PM BST
think about what your typing before you post, you step - take a penalty against the keeper & score, don't you think the a world-class goal keeper will have gained some information from your first pen? of course it's harder because this team he has a read.

Heynckes just told german TV that Robben said he doesn't feel comfortable to be one of the 5...
gotta give him credit for stepping back there
Report 50-500 April 25, 2012 10:52 PM BST
haha that's a joke, you dont think Casillas has seen every one of the last 20 or 30 so of robben's penalties before the game and studied them? one more makes no difference

I imagine missing an open goal from 2 yards out is also "mentally dificult"....he managed it against Dortmund and Real though

There is 1 vital point everyone seems to have missed here!

The last time he took a pen in a shoot-out
AND in the ECL semi-final
AND  away from home

...it was saved by José Manuel Reina Páez!
and they lost.(It was not a bad penalty either).

So fair play to him if he did not feel 100% confident and let more confident players step forward.
Maybe he felt he got lucky with one in normal time too!
