betting on goals is very hard to profit on overall, I personally have given up with that.  The last straw was a Man United game ending 1-0, and many a time it has saved me from losing heavily (in Bayern Munich's recent 0-0 for example)

I occasionally back another goal in the Jong games...but that's only at odds of 1.04 or so.

flash1966 it all depends on the game, just practice with small money. there are many ups and downs. there is no short cut

Flash: My advice is to not bother trading in game, if you're not confident you'll end up greening out all your best wins and letting the reds run in hope of miracles and tie yourself in knots.

maybe meltdown can make it work.  not sure what your definition of fun is flash?  if you want to make money, then usually betting on something in a winning position or carefully selected bets are the way to profit.

I've made far more money being disciplined to let bets run.

thanks ror, i can understand that, but the temptation to keep making little amounts of profits to build bank up is hard to ignore...I must admit recently they have been good choices with goals not appearing after the 1st has gone in

i just went on 0-1 0-1 1-1 pre game traded out for about a £4 loss on an £8 stake now whatever score it ends, i get £4.48+£3 extra = £7.48 confused.com don't understand this trading game.... & won on 1.5  waiting on 2.5 & 3.5

Yeah I don't ignore value, if the situation calls for a value cover or even reverse I'll take it and green in running, but only if it is value (such as today I laid WHU at 2.2 then greened just before leics scored (doh!) but I felt it value (the radio comm said "WHU looking like they'll score for sure here" and they're rarely wrong. (Even if in this case leics scored first.)

I put 80 quid on under 3.5 at 1.01 would still like 1 goal.  I haven't watched a second of this game.  My usual betting would have been back under 1.5 after the 1st goal, u2.5 after the 2nd, u3.5 after the 3rd - unfortunately reading a match thread for an insight into the game doesn't help.

judging by the odds america de cali are big favourites so I expect 2 goals there..,the other game seems tight but I remember that juan aurich just outclassed internacional

Under 1.5 for Rojo game would have been 7/1 at least - Over 3.5 would have been about evens, just sickening aint it

the stats arent everything mate..it depends on a lot of other things

setup up topic for America game,

ussually when a game screams goals it will probably finish with 1 or 2. take for the example the ajax game this weekend..they scored 42 goals in the last 6 or 7 fixtures and they won only 2-0 at home..in a match of football everything can happen

Its football betting its luck, baralona won 4/5/7/ + goals  some of there games have just finished in a 1-1 draw or 0-1 stats mean nothing...

addrian I get your point but I am not saying stats are everything but they are a great tool to use when considering bets.  Ajax game to me screamed Ajax win as they usually do at home, and the other team will try and score but mainly defend to keep score down.

meltdown if you believe it's just luck you will struggle to turn a profit.  barcelona is a good point - why are they so short before the game if stats mean nothing?

Good point, anyways aswell as we all make profits & people don't loose there houses everyone is happy.

Stats based - West Ham have the best away record in the Championship, leading 1-2 at Leicester and so I backed them to win at 1.25

I agree and I rely on the stats but not 100 %.and barcelona its a different case..people are very much impresed and they have a great press...I made a decent profit laying barcelona against milan at sansiro and stamford bridge..I even layed them agaisnt levante because no way a team playing away can be 1,17..at some point its just stupid to have barcelona at 1,75 against real madrid ant tomorrow they are at 1,31 against a team that they could not score 1 goal last week

I backed levante, i think like this a team in the same league, surely has a good enough chance to win or they wouldn't be in the league.

I was expecting barcelona to win at levante but I expected a much closer game than the odds..tomorrow I will layed them also cus they are way too short and chelsea will play inter style and defend with eleven men..
