Very tough call this game, applying cynicism to my thoughts, I think a draw might suit both teams, takes them both 2 wins ahead of Wet Spam and maintains their superior goal difference as well. If its still a draw towards the end of the game, I reckon that's how it will finish. Both teams to score is my bet here though.......

yeah it's a tough one, but Reading just seem to keep doing it, they just keep winning

I strongly fancy Southampton. Reading were extremely lucky against Brighton earlier in the week and Southampton are a much better side.

As suggested, in some ways won't both sides be looking more to avoid defeat than win this one? In that case perhaps unders is a decent shout given not too many risks being taken and at 1-0 either way would they try to shut up shop too?

As a royals fan who works in the directors suite at the madejski stadium, the feeling around the club is that they just dont want to lose this game. We'll be playing on the counter, but wont just sit back and take what they give. Our defensive record speaks for itself and with big guys at the back like Gorkks i like our chances of handling Lambert better than any other team in the league has done so far. Our goals are coming from all over the place right now so we aren't relying on just the forwards. If we can shut down Lambert I like our chances to get a win here. But shutting him down is no easy feat.
In terms of the bet, my money is on laying Southampton. I wouldnt be surprised with a hard fought tight 0-0 and I also wouldnt be surprised if we sneak a goal in the second half. (almost 85% of our goals this season have come 2nd half). At the end of the day if this ends a draw both teams will like their chances of automatic promotion over the Hammers now, and so there wont be any all out risks being taken throughout the game. Saying that I expected the same sort of match when we played West Ham the other week and that ended 4-2 to us. But it just goes to show we aren't afraid of anyone right now and away from home we just beat west ham and Brighton...so there's no reason to think we can't go on to win here or get a draw at the very least. We're not going to make it easy for them, and again like i said...we shut down Lambert, we shut down Southampton tonight. We always have a huge away gathering so the fans will make sure the players are up for getting the win tonight.

Lay Southampton for me.

Losing for either side, and giving West Ham a nice chance would be a bit of a nightmare here.

1 point, and Hammers are struggling to get close enough to either.

The draw and a lay of Southampton would seem the bets to me. I wont be getting too heavily involved though.
Looks sure to be a great game,as kuz says, shut down Lambert and ya shut down Southampton.
Ian Harte is always dangerous from free kicks aswell. Hows he playing kuz?
Only bloke i've ever seen David Beckham beat for pace lol

i think the incentive to win is huge, a 9 point gap on the hammers and probably go up as champions

haha yea Hartey's hit some form right now. He's scored 3 out of the last 4 games including the huge goal against Brighton. Always worried about anyone and everyone burning him down the line haha, but he's played solidly the past month. On top of that he's made clear to the club that he wants a contract extension for next year and has said that he needs to continue playing his best stuff if he wants to stay for the following season so he has his own motivation as well that of the clubs!

Reading all the way for me. Purely because I consider them to be a better side.

Shut down Lambert and you shut down Southampton is a little simplistic when a lot of people would tell you that Lallana is the best player in the division, and few championship players have scored more goals in the last two years than Billy Sharp.

I say 1-1 Reading take lead then try park the bus so to speak and Southampton will get 1 back but a very interesting one! Going to go 1-1 here just a small bet.

I'm going to this game tonight and i'm really looking forward to it. I dont support either team but my boys just love going to decent football matches and the ground at Southampton and the facilities are excellent. There will be a big crowd their tonight hopefully. I have seen Southampton six or seven times at home this season and have seen a mixed bag. Sometimes their football is excellent and they are worthy at being of the top of the league, particularly when they go in front early. What worries me is that the times they have been poor is when they have been under pressure. My gut feeling is that the longer it goes at 0-0, or if Reading are in front, then Reading will take it. To make it interesting i will be having a small bet by laying Southampton but will also be happy if they win. Just hope it lives up to expectations in front of the Sky cameras.

southampton unlucky to be behind.
I've layed southampton but think if they get a goal could win.
So I might greenout if I get to 2/3 of my potential winnings.
