Since Kenny rejoined Liverpool he has sold the following

Players Out

Fernando Torres - £50 Million
Raul Meireles - £12 Million
Ryan Babel - £8 Million
David Ngog - £4 Million
Christian Poulsen - £2.5 Million
Emiliano InsUA - £2 Million
Paul Konchesky - £1.5 Million
Chris Mavinga - £1 Million
Milan Jovanovic - £1 Million
Daniel Ayla - £1 Million
Gerardo Bruna £500,000

= £83.5 Million

As well as getting them all of the wage bill, also got all these of the wage bill since last August

Jason Banton (released)
Deale Chamberlain (released)
Douglas Cooper (released)
Sean Highdale (released)
Steven Irwin (released)
Nikola Saric (released)
Gerardo Bruna (nominal to Blackpool)
Tom Ince (undiscl. to Blackpool)
Nabil El Zhar (free to Levante)
Sotirios Kyrgiakos (undiscl. to Wolfsburg)
Dani Pacheco (loan to Atletico Madrid)
Alberto Aquilani (loan to AC Milan)
Emiliano Insua (undiscl. to Sporting Lisbon)
Joe Cole (loan to Lille)
Christian Poulsen (undiscl. to Evian)
Villyan Bijev (loan to Fortuna Dusseldorf)
Philipp Degen (released)

---------------------------------------
Players In

Andy Carroll - £35 Million
Luis Suarez - £22 Million
Stewart Downing - £20 Million
Hendo - £16 Million
Charlie Adam - £7 Million
Sebastian Coates - £7 Million
Jose Enrique - £6 Million

Total In = £113 Million
-----------------------------------

Kenny has reportedly with his dealings of players out and new contracts for players in brought the clubs wage bill down by £30 million a season. Joe Cole going to Lille on loan alone has saved the club £3 million in wages along with Aqualani at Milan etc too.

So the final figues are

Total In = £83.5 Million + (£30 Million net saving per season on club wage bill)  = £113.5 Million
Total Out = £113 Million

Net spend = -£500,000.

Yes Kenny is operating the club at a NET PROFIT OF HALF A MILLION PROFIT since he rejoined the club, the bloke has only gone and won the Carling Cup, got the team in to the Semi Finals of the FA CUP and maybe another final and has brought through a few of the youth players into the first team since he joined. I would like to see another manager achieve all that with making a PROFIT and no net spend. Kenny working miracles. About time the REAL STORY was told chaps. I expect to see this trending worldwide on twitter within the next few hours.

Thank You

look at the players he has bought in - apart from suarez, who has caused you no end in social/media problems, who has done well from you?

Enrique? and thats it...

Equity firms like FSG are interested in only one thing - getting a return on their investment. Fortunately for Liverpool it would appear that they are happy for this to be in the long term but this might be just a case of having to be. There are two keys things that enable this return on investment 1. Success on the pitch 2. New stadia.

Are either of these things any nearer since Dalglish took over?

Well I suppose there's the Carling Cup, it's a start and you have to start somewhere and of course still the potential of the FA Cup. The FA Cup would be a greater success than the former but I'm not sure either really compensate for a Champions League spot which in financial terms is massive and would enable greater funds for new players.

The stadia? No idea what's happening there but I'm sure someone will update us Wink

You can't defend Kenny. He could have not spend 100m and we would be higher than we are now probably. His signings are that bad. Not to mention the fact we are like 8th behind Everton and Newcastle.

Liverpool did cut £30 Million off the wage bill per season

...

http://twitter.com/#!/rorysmith_tel/statuses/109032992516739072

Rory Smith of the telegraph wrote about it back in September

Torres going and being replaced by Carroll was a £70,000 saving a week because Torres @ 140,000 a week and Carroll @ 70,000 per week halfed that to save £3.5 million a season alone for example. Liverpool pay cole around £100,000 a week but are only paying 40% of that Lille the other 60%, saving Liverpool £3 million a season.

Jovanovic : 90,000 a week saved the club £4.5 million a year alone.

Ngog at 50,000 a week saved the club another £2.5 million

We have not even got onto fringe players and youth players taking £20,000 or a £1 million a year home. Easily cut £30 million a season, could be actually a lot more in all honesty.

Just look at some of the rediculous wages Liverpool cut

Rimmer, Liverpool have been paying these rediculous wages for a long time, Jova got that because he came on a free, he was linked with Real Madrid and few other EPL clubs at the time, same with Cole, got the big money in his wage and sign on because he was on a free.

£25 million fixed sum a year for 6 years it is = £150 million, but the club expect to earn another £150 million over 6 years due to more power to sell other merchandise remainging with Liverpool FC.

Liverpool's managing director, Ian Ayre, explained: "Our business is split in two. We have what you call kit, the branded products, the stuff the players wear, and that's the part of the business that the deal with Warrior covers. In our existing deal, there have been some restrictions on that in terms of the other unbranded products we sell, general retail. That sat within our deal with Adidas in certain lines and in certain markets.

"In our new deal, we have complete control of that. We will still work with Warrior, but we will have a much wider opportunity. That area of business currently represents 50% of everything we generate. The new deal represents half of what we currently generate, so we still have another opportunity to develop similar kind of revenues and that's what encouraged us."

Interesting stuff !

Can't give King Kenny credit for that though, sorry pan ! CryLaugh

not only that, if he gets some more sh!t players in this summer he can probably drive the wage bill down even further. sh!t players are well known for not wanting much.

all he's got to do is get rid of suarez and a couple of others, he could be putting out a team for a couple of hundred quid a week.

See I would prefer for us to have a net spend of £100 million of the owners money, I don't want to see the club making a profit on transfers or spending a minimal amount. Because ultimately yes, that tells on the field of the play and downgrading occurs across all levels and shows through in all areas of the club. Lets just say Kenny never cut the wage bill, lets even just calulate the net spend at £30 million roughly in 2 windows. £15 Million a season for the 2 seasons he has been here is absolutely nout in this day and age, CHICEKN FEED. In order to break that top 4 these days you have to spend and spend as you have always had to do but now with more competition, when you have Man City and Man U net spending £60 million and more each per season, spending net £15 million a season won't make a dint in trying to keep pace with them for 99% of clubs. The owners really have to make their mark this summer and spend net of £50 million + and that is not including player sales, £50 million of their own cash.

IDWM - Im not proud of it as such as it's obviously a order from above, but it shows you some of the rubbish printed in the press about Kenny spending a £100 million + as if it were without any capital funding that spend from the transfer of quality and players out of the team. I would prefer for the club to net spend a loss ( in the form of the owners money funding the loss) if only short term as a investment to move the club forward and back into the CL and new stadia etc.

PAN Laugh

TM, just seen your post up there mate, very good post, spot on with what you say. I think obviously cutting costs in terms of wages makes sense to help the club be more self sufficent long term, however even though they want some $$$ long term, most likely via new stadium to pay back a return, Im not sure they understand that without a "gamble" or "investment" as such of their own money on top of any profit the club may make, they may kill the golden goose. If the club ain't back in the CL anytime soon, they won't get a bigger stadium anytime soon most likely and then the "investment" devalues by the year most likely and who knows. The people in charge need to look it over 3/4 seasons and say we willing to pump in £50 milion towards transfers alone on top of any player sales and profits the club makes, taking a £200 million hit at most if even 4 years of that spend was even needed, once they get back in the CL that will produce that money anyway.

Yes Ukm the CL has to be the Holy Grail for Liverpool and I'm sure that's what the fans and FSG want. I'm just not sure at the moment that when it comes to the players needed to sustain a consistent guaranteed place in the top 4 that either they'll come up with the cash or that the top players would select Liverpool.

Take Llorente for example. Assuming he might be a possible target, its going to take £36 mill and a fairly hefty salary to sign him. Spuds have allegedly had £33 mill rejected and I think it's safe to say he won't be going for less than that. So say he has 3 or more clubs to choose from, lets say Tottenham, City, United, Barca for example. Is he really going to choose Liverpool? Years ago it had the pull with it's history etc. but I'm not sure it's there at the moment. I think this is the problem it might have had when it did have the money to spend in that the players they would really have liked just wouldn't come and that's been a common problem for any club that doesn't qualify for the CL. City were able to do it because they had the money to bankroll quality replacements for a whole squad not just one or two players and the players that came were convinced it was spending enough to achieve success at some point.

Cue the "Liverpool sign Llorente" headline in the summer!
