Created a little spreadsheet for those of us who lay the 0-0

there is a box at the bottom that tells you, it uses 0-0 results this season and previous 0-0s between them

how matches you tested it on?

tonight is first time ive tested it, i only put in two games, already had sheffield united in mind because they have good goal rate. put milan in just for fun- should only work on league games

looking good so far, put my 0-0 lay in sheffield in

1-0, good stuff.

Goal in Sheffield, spreadsheet was right about the lay of 0-0 and he goal time, thats a 8.6 winner.

How did you go about making this spreadsheet, is there a lot of data input?

well, on soccerway, you use the avg goals scored at home, conceeded. goals before ht and recent form. All of the data is just on 1 page on soccerway so its not too taxing

I see mate, then how have you gone about deciding the bets? Frequency of results/stats?

The bets is kind of down to me, it gives you 5 outputs, how many goals, which half, time, if they having been scoring more recently and if its good for a 0-0 lay. i then use this to pick a good bet, by the stats i could of gone under 2.5 in barca- but its barca and under 4.5 is much safer

Fair play. It could be luck, but that's bloody impressive so far.

pretty accurate on the first goal time in the sheffield game, fair play. cant see it being to accurate over a long period of time though as many early first goals and late first goals will always average out to around half way in. definately useful for the 0-0 lay though.

then click on table to get some stats

over.under tab is used for the amount of 0-0s

the table tab also has a tab called form, which you use for past 3 results

Looks good mate, you say the sheet gives you 5 outputs, how are they calculated? Is it arbitrary?

nothing too complex, firstly it rules out potential 0-0 by using the past games and results, it then uses basic addition of average goals scored and conceeded, adjusted by recent goal scoring form, divided to make an average. Similarly with time of first goal. The goals a half uses total goals distribution of both teams to make average. Just helps with decision making

Hi, how far back do you go back with the 0-0s? Hope that makes sense.

as its for the league games usually, its usually games so far. depending on the league, its for that. atm is 29. on soccerway it has a over under table for each league which is what i use. the h2h 0-0s is also what betfair say, some go back 4 games, some just 2. all depends

It was placed at 9.8, i knew it would be in the range of 8-11, which i was happy to place the bet at.

As I said this is most effective in league games, kenilworth- i think you are using the overall stats for both teams, not the stats for the team being away  aways stats, and home team at home. mrbojangles i've noticed between 20-28 mins the 0-0 drops the most. Those who are interested just messsage me on my email and i will reply. Today is the last day to get it as I've sent it to over 40 people lol. Dsax I think anything over 6 years should be ignored for the 0-0 test between the two, yes it works for any league

Just trying to use the spreadsheet on the Sporting Lisbon game and have fallen at the first hurdle! I have gone to the Soccerway site, then found the Lisbon stats but can't see the 0-0 for the season and previous meetings?  Can someone help.  I realise I'm probably being a very simple explanation but its been a long day.  Cheers

To get the 0-0s this season, you need to access the league of the team- so sporting is the primiera (at the bottom right), once on the league you need to click TABLES and then  the sub heading over.under, there it tells you how many 0-0s this season, which is 3

the previous results you need to go to the homepage of soccerway, where the fixtures are, and click on the fixture. which will take you to this screen

as you see at the top there is a H2H comparison tab, click that. any previous results will be shown at the top, as there is none 0 goes in the cell.

I like this kind of thing, and have my own spreadsheet for goal predictions (though I don't bother with goal timings).

Mine doesn't work for cup matches where teams are either from different divisions or different leagues though.

If you put up a prediction for a league match some time, I'll run mine for the same game and see if the predictions are close.

Well it's helping me, my main strategy is backing a goal- be that at 0-0 or 1-0, so this certainly helps me avoid dodgey games. Slow and steady wins the race ay? Hope everyone else is winning too :)

on soccerway, you click on the time of the fixture which takes you to a comparison page, at the top it has a tab called h2h comparison, click that and scroll halfway down and there is a grid with most of the information needed.

Changed the spreadsheet, it now uses 8 game form, which has to got from soccerstats.com, also the goal indicator which says if they have been scoring more or less recently is now changed to a % to be a bit more accurate
