Villareal at home and are near the relegation zone while Real are 5 points clear at the top with a game in hand. Real have a fairly easy home game against Sociadad on Saturday and a Champions League away tie next Tuesday.
Real not really desperate for the points and I have a feeling they won't be busting a gut to win this one tonight.
Thoughts?

Draw this and they are 6pts in front (having been 10 four days ago), with Barcelona away to come and far harder other fixtures than Barca. Having said that i wouldn;t be backing them at those odds |

If Madrid fail to win tonight, the gap is 5 or 6 points, Barca beat them at the Nou Camp = 3 points. 1 bad away game is all it takes.

Real may just conserve their energies for that So if Saturday's game is so easy why would they need to save energy for it  People really overcomplicate football by trying to 2nd guess motivational levels. Most Teams are doing their best to win every game they play, a team chasing the title and trying to hold off the best tean of all time are not likely to be an exception to that. |

Not watched the first half but I would guess La Liga wants an interesting finish to the title race, so the reffing will probably aid Villareal here.
