ror- read your blog, interesting stuff. Just wondering tho, why when your expected return is -5% would you want to minimize the variance?
I don't want to purely minimise it, hence not just backing favourite every game, but at the same time I don't have the depth of account to punt on extreme outsiders too often. This was devised as a comfortable medium.
As it happened, I ended up backing the home side at 2.58 and losing on this game! When I've got a reasonable sample size I'll post the results.
