Thought this would be a good topic that everyone can join in on.
Regardless of stake, whats your biggest success in terms of odds?
I personally have never manage to land anything better than a 10/1 for a tenner a couple of times, once on an acca, another on Saints at home to Bristol City (bet on Bristol to win with about 20 minutes left to play).
Probably backed the winners of Golf tournaments at higher odds , but in the context of backing and laying the whole field that don't really count.
Also Accas when i used to do them, had one at 100/1 ,maybe better ones

Kenilworth, if you don't like this thread, why comment on it? I'm sure you prefer when people who have no interest in your threads don't add pointless posts.

£2 on 27/1 on blackburn on the "Man united vs blackburn rovers" And ive done a couple HT/FT bets before.
Think i got a £3 26/1 on Real Madrid/Barcelona HT/FT bet. and another one was Aston villa/Arsenal HT/FT but i cant remember the odds on that think it was 35/1 with a £1 bet.
Ive been trying to get a treble with correct scores on since jan using £1 bets each weekend but im yet to get more than one correct score correct -.-
Im not botherd anyways most my winnings end up going back to the bookies or someone else on betfair. i just do it for abit of fun waiting for a nice £500+ win in less than 10 bets using £10 banks.
So far since xmas ive managed to get from £30 - £200 then lose it all, and £50 - £100. But i seeem to loose most my money doing small bets on stupid games then wondering why i loose it faster than doing bigger bets.
Got to stop soon for awhile anyways to get a new bank because man united seem to suck 2nite.

One of my best was Kieran dyer to score first 16/1, few years back for newcastle in europe. had couple injuries so he was put up front, it was at Stan james, everyone was on in shop. when he scored Inearly went though the roof.

coachbuster did u let these bets run till the end or did u trade them after a goal or two if u dont mind me asking. usually i trade them to recover my stake no matter how small t is. it is an area i may have to look its profitablity longterm

Absolutely, don't even dare question anything on one of his numerous threads of boredom though as it will get his goat up something wicked. A **** of the highest order. Posts plenty but never actually gives his bet as he has been found out to be a mug for a very long time.
Trevor Immelman at 200/1 to win The Matsers.

good point - i did some limitation damage on the lay so the real cost was around £100 or so , it was such a small stake in the first place -thank heavens.
With the back bet a couple of weeks ago i got very lucky , it just came in - one minute it was dead ,then the next it was - well ,a winner !

There was a forumite once who layed a 250/1 shot or something or the Sister in Law **** Giggs to be SPOTY, I'd loved to have been the backer but sadly it wasn't me, Giggs was the wrong winner for more reasons than one, it was sentimental, and he has no...yeah yeah you guessed it.

An acca of 5 away wins sometime back in the early 90's !
What bumped it up was Port Vale winning away at Wolves at 4/1 when they were both in The Championship.
The total odds were 240/1 ....... and, yes, I only put a quid on.

In the 70's there used to be a bet called the ITV7, basically seven televised races and most of the bookies took them. the aim was to get all seven winners bit like tote jackpot or the scoop six. Had a consolation dividend for first 5 and six winners.
I used to do a perm every week but on this occasion it was the last sat of the factory holidays and I was skint except for 50p. Borrowed 10p off the mrs so I could get the paper which was 8p at the time. Did a perm 48 x 1p lines with two bankers in the last two races.
Can't remember all the prices but started off with something like 9/2, 3/1, 100/30 then had two horse going in a ladies race both trained by Henry Cecil. One was 7/4 fav ridden by Elaine Mellor and the other was 20/1. The 20/1 shot got up in a photo to beat the fav. The bet got serious then and all I was thinking of was getting the consolation for 5 winner. The fifth horse went in so started sweating then. In the end had £500 going on the last horse which was 4/1 in a 5 horse race. It was named Oriental Rocket and was ridden by Ron Muddle. Anyway I was worried when he went straight into the lead over a mile and a half but amazingly he stayed 2 lengths up all the way to the line. Got just over £1500 for a 1p line - that's 150,000/1.
Lot of money then., but sods law dictated that I was skint and could only afford a 1p perm. Great feeling though nonetheless.
Went to Laddies to get paid and was told I had to wait until the following Friday for a cheque. Met a mate on the way home who took me for a bevvie to celebrate.

Odd to think of ITV taking an interest in Racing . Seems like the BBC aren't even going to bother next year.

Back then Tobes, the ITV 7 was a mere prelude to the big event of the weekends sporting calendar - Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks bouncing each other off turnbuckles.
Great story by the way, Crystal.

Wished I'd have done more with the money - probably gave plenty back - but felt like a millionaire for months - became a bit of a celebrity in the factory.
Nearly got the same bet up a few weeks later - had the first 6 up and waiting on a big field handicap - commentator called my horse in the lead so kept my eye on it - lead all the way but the comentator changed the name in the last furlong - seems like there were 2 horses with similar colours. Would have been for £2k - smaller odds but bigger stake. Got about £60 for the consolation.

I had £2.21p on Crianza at 1000-1 earlier last year I think it was. Funniest thing about it was, it was a mistake in my trading and I didn't realise until about 1 out that I'd made it when it was forging clear! With trading was about 5.5k green on it and desperately tried to lay some off ended up with about 4.9k on Crianza and 1k on all the other runners as it past the post. Couldn't believe my luck. Happy days

Catford dogs...it was a John Humphries night back in about 1982/83.Traps 1-5 got to the first bend in equal time according to the form. The only WIDE dog in trap six was a 3 legged mongrel with absolutely rubbish times before and didn't stand a chance according to the bookies. My prediction that traps 1,2,3,4,5 would all fall over each other at that first bend came true and my 50/1 shot came round the outside and held on all the way to the finish....quality as I was only 15 or 16 at the time...I was hooked.

Done a couple of scorecasts, had about 280/1. Otherwise I was very pleased to get 55s on Blackburn HT/FT against Man U earlier this season, backed them to lead at ht at 16s as well

120/1 Charl Schwartzl was my biggest odds win too, was a guess to be honest and part of some £2 punts on the masters. Correct score markets have always offered my best returns though, I love a 3-1 scoreline.

Had a double on Arsenal to win Div 1 (16/1) and Chelsea to win Div 2 (6/1). Placed bet in 1988 at start of season. Stake was £1 and I was sh1tting myself collecting because I was not even old enough to bet and thought that they would ask for Id or something!
Had a large double of Mr Mulligan and Make a Stand at cheltenham in 1997 at odds of 20/1 and 7/1 respectively. Had numerous bets including one or both of these including one that came to in excess of 3000-1 and included a NR!!!!!!!!! Won a lot of money that day.
Also Won £1019 with a £2ew fourfold. The great thing with this one is that I fished out 4 8-runner races and tried to nick £40 or so in place money to have a beer after work. They all won and it was hilairous in as much as I felt like I wasn't even trying for the win money!!!

Fulham were cruising at 2-0 against OB earlier in the season in the Europa league and just as OB were lining up a free kick on the edge of Fulhams area I decided to lay Fulham at 1.02. They scored from the free kick and went on to get the equaliser with the last kick, or head if memory serves me right, of the game.

My first bet on betfair was about 3 years ago, didn't know a lot about horse racing but bet £10 on templegates tips from the sun lol, was a treble but i didn't like the look of the third horse so also did a double on the first two and to my surprise they all came in and total payout was £1400, can't remember the odds but was complete beginners luck.

130/1 Derek Lamely winning the Puerto Roco Open last year But i once won over £2100 for a £6.40 (64 X 10P PERMS) on a placepot at Cheltenham, i think it was the day War of Attrition won the Gold Cup.
