I don't think anyone cares anymore do they? Betfair have destroyed their forum and now don't want anyone wasting time on here when they could be playing 'SUPER SLOTS' and the like!

The community is a very important part of betfair. The link to it should be on the first page and obvious. If it is not obvious ( which it isn't now ) you will lose new forum memebers and many current members will forget about it. Replacing it with slots is starting on the slippery slope of not catering for the requirements of your current customers.

Let's be honest, the slippery slope started several years ago now.... 

It's just another sign of the times.  As somebody else has said above, the bottom line is all that matters these days. 

The justification given to those of us that pay PC is that it costs Betfair money to bring the new money to the markets, which to an extent is fair enough, but moves like this just re-emphasise the fact that BF would much rather the new money is lost to them (again, understandably so) rather than the exchange users who are being asked to pay directly for this newly generated cash arriving 'in the pool'. 

How long before the exchange gets done away with altogether....?  It seems it's becoming too much of a bug to bear.... 

Oh for the Betfair of a few years ago....

This site gets more confused all the time. Most people only come here for football anyway but it gets harder all the time to find your way around. And to think that Betfair will actually listen to its customers as fancfiful too.

Interestingly I was talking to helpdesk the other night about the beta release and they tried to convince me that they had had many people praising the beta version. I told them that the forum didn't seem to follow that optimistic portrayal. They told me that the forum was full of negative people in general. Honestly, they did.

I actually asked if they did any research with customers first, again they responded with yes plenty.  I would bet no-one from this forum was contacted about their views on a new beta version.

Can we have two separate sites please? One for just sports and the other for those stupid arcade games that hardly anybody cares about. Most people use this site for sports betting. However, they have found it almost unusable at times due to it being slowed down by the quick games.

Just strip the site down to it's basic and I'm sure you'll get more users. It's not rocket science!

Not sure this is such a big deal, they clearly want to promote new product and although dont agree with all this games,arcade nonsense it a good earner for them and that debate about direction they are heading is an old one now.

haha it's true though, there's only a few positive people in them... most are so bitter and sour that they keep losing money it's eaten any good they had in them.  You know who the big losers are on here by the amount they curse others usually with the word mug

magic dont tell me what i need because i lost yesterday all the money i had earned because of fckn 8 sec delay in-play!!!! i was short of 1 sec closing my position before a fckn goal!!! so u better keep ur ideas for urself if ur not a TRADER

all I can say is that a 5 second delay is not feasible with spanish football, and I rather there is a longer delay than someone with faster pictures hoovering up all the money.

I am now having to buy a 23in screen to view Betfair and its forums correctly. Another expense.

It's no real hardship because i have the forum saved to the favourites in my toolbar so i just click there for it anyway however............all i will say it's now a lot harder for newcomers to the site to find it now it's tucked away down there on the 2nd row.

Go to the homepage (betfair.com) half way down on the right hand side is 'top features' below that 'betfair community' click on that and the forum should open in a full window as before

kn what is so difficult to understand that the delay is due to the delay in tv coverage. it is there to protect the user from people with quicker access to what is actually happening. Betfair do not have staff in stadiums and regulate the delay according to the delay of coverage of their source.

For me, I have to say I prefer the original layout of the 'Community' tab. Sometimes I just like to read what's news/relevant/where & what the liquidity is going on, before actually logging in and going into the bet pages. However, its only a small thing, the new tab not being readily available on the main page wouldn't prevent me checking out the community forums.

In mozilla this tabs are covered by login area anyway. It doesn't matter is it community or something else, still mostly covered :)

I dont know why Sports, Football and Horse Racing are not all in the Sports Tab, nor why Casino, Live Casino, Poker, Exchange Games, Arcade and Super Slots are not in the Casino tab. There seems to be no point in having a tab which drops down to reveal another tab otherwise.

No you're right Betfair. You're operating with your customers in mind and in the true spirit that saw your organisation created and supported in the first place.

Make it customisable? I personally never use Casino, Live Casino or Arcade, so I'd be happy to drop them and use the freed up space for the community tab.

This would be the sensible option without a doubt but it aint gonna happen

i have never clicked on the casino/games tabs in 2 years of being here, put the community tab back where it was, why change it anyway? the different game tabs could easily be compressed into 1 or 2 tabs at the most, also a tennis tab would be nice.

Agreed that Beta is simply awful as is the new community, people dont use it, swithch it back to the classic for everyone, some football matches used to have over 1000  posts,now your lucky if you get 200 posts a match.

There are too many tabs, and the new tab which has gone in place of community, is particularly ridiculous.

Yet another retrograde step, I wouldn't mind too much if the page opened instantaneously, but half the time opens in a quarter page.

Beta is bolloxs and so is the new community.

why do they keep changing things - waste of time - I don't use anything - I just come on to bet on the football - the forums are clogged up with silly pretty pictures and they are forcing beta on to me everytime i log in plus adverts and garbage which I ignore

I cannot understand why BF keep changing things 'for improvements'  says who?  Surely a poll BEFORE such changes will tell you if it is both wanted and/or needed.
As far as i have seen for the past 12 months or even longer you continually 'make improvements' which imo only slows the god damn site down!!

Not against change: Forum Live is great. I'd be interested to know the small percentage of people still using the old forum.

However, exchange Beta is DREADFUL. Hardly anyone has a good word to say about it. And, PureGenius, they DID ask for feedback on Beta before they put it out there for everyone, and guess what, they were told it was rubbish and they still put it out there with no amendments.

i switched to "english asia" for the community tab
it ist just wrong to replace it with some stupid slots tab
it should be no problem to add a new tab without remmoving another
or at least add some icon/tab while in "in-play" view

and btw, i LOVE the new beta site and design. good work

I would comment but I can't find the community tab - with it being easier to find now that it is hidden.

Basic internet rules dictate that people want to click less to reach their chosen destination.

A path near where I used to live was pretty and had nice curves to it.  A straight line from the start to the finish next to the path (gong onto it at points within the line) was just soil as this is the path people would use - ignoring the pretty path in favour of the fastest path.

instead of asking questions here you need to give people a chance to trade their bets out!! yet again robbed off you again today because of site problems! for gods sake get them sorted or close the stupid site down!

also can i ask, you give the option of opting out of the beat page. and wont be asked again about it. how comes when i opt out of it, its back within 2 hours! i mean i have opted out now about 900 times. this is very poor service..

personally, I don't want to see any of the arcade/casino/slots cr@p at all.

they also said they were "testing" it just before the cheltenham festival so i was under the impression the cheltenham festival was going to take the tab over but it never did. I think, wel, i know they are using it to see if the profits increase with the tab there for the stupid slots.

i only came on to ask how long this thrad will be stuck locked in the forum section when going into the in-play pages of matches because it's rather annoying especially when they notify multiple games having no feed you don't see any of the normal users threads in that section.

You would suppose that betfair would learn that they have different types of punters and the pure exchange players are bound to dislike the arcade stuff.  Separate it and subcontract it to Branson would be a sensible option, or at the very least rebrand it.

No sign of Mallorca-Barcelona on the main football page. It's the same every day now. I just can't believe how they have neglected this now the beta c.rap has arrived. Total disregard for customer feedback, and obviously just going ahead with this, even though it is rubbish.

Talk to yourself, the Southampton match is still up there. Can't you find anyone to keep it updated, even on minimum wage?

Gents, don't let this thread slide of the forum - as Betfair would wish it to do - if you want your comments to be taken some kind of notice of.

Betfair have to one day face up to the discontent of their customers the last couple of years and not just think they can ignore people and it will all be 'fine, just fine'.

3 weeks later and still no1 from BF has listened to us.  Didnt they ask for our feedback and thoughts?

I love how they say "....it allows us to promote key content...."  key to who exactly, certainly not us footy backers who have slots, arcades etc rammed down out throat on every live footy betting page,   funny really, where the sports adds on the arcade games pages...  i dont see man utd v chelsea etc advertised on the "deal or no deal" pages....   

Easy really... NO DEAL!!!   Give us back what we love and want...SPORT!!
