If somebody puts in a day before a match a stupidly low lay hoping to catch someone out because its so low no sane person would possibly take it, and then you make a mistake thinking it is another page you were previously on and back it, that betfair wont cancel the bet?
fair enough if it was a fair price, but it is way below the price it should be and that to me makes it completely obvious that it was a mistake and the fact that the other guy wasnt being honest should all mean it is voidable, the lay was soo low i know cant even get out of it until about HT if it remains 0-0, which it wont.

At the end of the day it's your responsibility to double check before you go throwing bets on. Looks too good to be true? It is.
It would come under a palp error at a bookmakers, but you can't turn round to another punter and tell him you want to back out of it. Your own fault.

yeh well iv had to lay at a much higher price now so i lose 1/3 if its unders

Uh.....that's your fault for falling for it. If i thought people like you would come along more often i'd put in stupidly low lays too. Seems like a good bit of business for them.

although i agree you have to take responsibility what about i think it was a horse a couple of months ago where a horse was put up at a big price it got layed and betfair voided the bets it should be one rule not whatever they feel at the time
i think it depends wether you just made a stupid bet and now regret it or wether you genuinely made a mistake

thats because the person who layed it at 35 had layed it for a liability of something like £15 million or something ridiculous. it was actually a bot that made the bet and there was only around £1000 in the chaps bank so it would have been impossible for him to pay it out, so that was technically betfairs fault for accepting the bet as there wasnt sufficient funds in his account

got to agree with the majority here but the old cliche, you learn by your mistakes, should ensure you don't do it again. Some punters make a living out of our mistakes; good luck to them!

overall this could work both ways the thing is its dog eat dog
also i have noticed quite a few mistakes by betfair recently not turning the markets in play and leaving down bets that were meantto be canceled in play this could also cost punters by their shody mistakes.
They really need to sort their act out at times
