Playing like they want him sacked, never seen such a poor Chelsea performance considering how much quality they have on the pitch.

AVB can't win.  He picks them.  They play sh1t and yet it's still his fault!

Report A.H HUNTER esq. February 25, 2012 6:55 PM GMT
Terrible management from the immature Vilas -Boas ,he needs to learn quick .

A less honest pro than Lampard would have got him the sack today (the crowd were ready to slaughter him) and would not have tried ,just hope he remembers who got him out of jail and that his Portugese player mates are not in the same class. A manager in a hurry making serious management errors in the short term which could cost him his job.
Report mexicano February 25, 2012 7:00 PM GMT
how on earth could frank hve got him sacked?
Report loadedgimp February 25, 2012 7:06 PM GMT
4th in the league, only being beaten by City United and Spurs (with a great manager) and still beating Arsenal and Liverpool.  I think this is a poor thread.  Surely some thread claiming Wenger and Daglish should exist before this one?
Report A.H HUNTER esq. February 25, 2012 7:14 PM GMT
I told you by playing like that Portugese muppet with the haircut or Mikel or Malouda all have been chosen ahead of Lampard and are not in the same class ,the crowd were ready .

They decide . Players who have been shafted and dont see a future can perform in a way that can increase the pressure on a manager who has made terrible decisions.

Lets hope he has learnt something and can survive and flourish ,if Lamaprd does not play against Napoli and he plays his mates and gets beaten as they will ,his stay of execution may be short lived. Personally I would have shafted him and not run an inch to get him out.
Report max stirner February 25, 2012 7:22 PM GMT
Lampard and Drogba gone at the end of season, Terry now injury-prone for the rest of his career, Cole, a fickle character who could jump ship anytime now. This Chelsea clique is over the hill, passed away, kaput, bereft of life!
Report mexicano February 25, 2012 7:45 PM GMT
exactly right max, frank knows the games up, and is ensuring he comes out of it whichever way it goes with his integrity and reputation intact. he knows that it wouldn't be a good " career move" to go to war with avb.

there can only be one winner here ,and it's got to be the manager.

i note with interest that " the crowd were ready" [not the impresssion i got by the way] does rather suggest that some might be dissapointed with the chelsea win as it meant they couldn't "go to town".

Are you a Chelsea fan Mex?
Report charwell. February 25, 2012 7:51 PM GMT
Typical modern day Chelski fan. They bought instant success and like a spoilt child throw their toys out the pram if everything isn't rosy in the garden. Hence managers have a revolving door.

What a classless fan and club. They belong together.

AVB good manager, needs time & the clique breaking.

luiz has more goals than torres... avb must take some responsibility for that. He no like Spanish players from Spain
Report Solano1 February 25, 2012 8:11 PM GMT
A man of Torres' ability should take responsibility for that SD.

If he doesn't, mebbe the bloke who signed him should.
Report Argonaut February 25, 2012 8:42 PM GMT
I'd like to defend him. Needs time to sort out some obvious problems. He almost instantly realised that Kalou, Mikel and Malouda were not up to standard and they have become fringe players.
For the past few years Chelsea have played rather predictably, zig-zagging across the pitch slowly until reaching the final third and then struggling. Most teams play the same against Chelsea - sit back and soak. Chelsea dominate to that final third but getting there is too slow.
Drogba, Lampard, Essien and Terry are still top quality but they are not where they were 3-4 years ago. AVB has to slowly ease them out, and he is.
Torres and Mata would work brilliantly playing in a different style, Luiz is superb and will get better. Sturridge might be great but still suffers from greed and needs to look up more.

Some of the AVB substitutions do leave me puzzled though :P

i see charwell is on the warpath againLaugh. he wants to talk about clubs being cluekess and classkess, well let's see if avb lasts longer than woy.

and when the shirt hits the fan about terrys racism problem lets see whether chelsea handle it in the same clueless way as lpool handled theirs.

this geezer is learning.

he'kk get time.

ke'll bring his own players in .
then we'll see if he's any good,.

watch the game today we are so poor its untrue, bolton made us look good

===============================================================
i did watch it.

so what are you saying.?

that the inclusion of lampard and essien mader us look poor?

less poor or more poor?

poor enough to finish top 4 bu too poor to overcome napoli?

that's the whole point. we aint as good as we were, and this geezer has been brought in to demo;ish this team and build another, now it seems to me that as fans we can take the view that we don't like him, boo the bowlarks out of him to get rid, but then what?

somebody else; what are we going to do with him if two thirds into the season he's ONLY in the latter stages of a couple of cups and top 4 in the league.start booing him?

and round we'll go gain.

as for mightymoyes point.

before abramovic arrived chelsea had won the title ,the cup, a couple of european cups, and various oyher bits & pieces, and were qualified for europe, slightly more than everton have achieved in his lifetime

if he's suggesting that the level of achievement they'd maintained up to then makes thier opinion worthless, then surely his clubs triumphs makes his opinion rather not really worth considering.
Report A.H HUNTER esq. February 26, 2012 10:32 AM GMT
The clueless muppets on here seem to forget Chelsea won more than there clubs before Abramovich took over inc a European Cup winners cup the FA Cup twice and were qualified for the Champions League in the Nineties .
I thought they made a big thing about history Crazy

Ken Bates sorted Chelsea out in the Eighties.

Re AVB

I believe long term he could be good .

However he needs to buy himself time ,his impatience and lack of experience could lose him his job now.

Leaving out Lampard and getting knocked out of Europe and not qualifying for the Champions League with that squad is not good enough and that would leave him vulnerable.  He should be getting 4th in the league even in a rebuilding season .  His decisions this season have left us behind were we should be and Napoli summed his season up so far.
But remember Mark Robbins save Fergies job ,he was gone that FA Cup afternoon.
Report berto77 February 26, 2012 10:38 AM GMT
Totally agree with last post on the AVB point.  They should stick with him, but he's making it harder than it should be to support him.

Hansen made some good points in MOD last night.Showed how Torres is not getting into the thick of things, not getting involved enough.A striker has to be in the right places.
Take a look at Lamps goal, simple execution, unmarked, because his experience told him where to place himself.
