At present they cannot grow grass there apparantly so FIFA reckons they arent allowed to compete ,but they do have a team of sorts

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_in_Greenland

Association football is the national sport in Greenland. It was brought to Greenland by Danish settlers. Because of the climatic conditions, Greenland is unable to support any grass pitches so games are played on artificial turf. The national stadium is the Nuuk Stadium in the capital Nuuk.

The Football Association of Greenland is not a member of FIFA or any of its confederations, but is a member of the International Football Union, secondary governing bodies of association football for nations and sub-national countries that are not FIFA members. Although the Faroe Islands, another dependency of Denmark, is a member of FIFA and UEFA, Greenland is considered part of Denmark for the purposes of international football.

[edit]National team

One of the biggest moments in the island's footballing history came in 2001 when the national team played a landmark fixture against a Tibet XI in Denmark, the game went ahead despite great pressure by the Chinese Government and FIFA to have it called off.[1]

Wow I can't get over the originality of that Scotland response. What's fantastic about it is I didn't expect anyone to say it.

Seriously though I don't think Tokelau or The Pitcairn Islands or the likes would have a national team.

Greenlands population is around 55,000 in all seriousness and they do have a football league in place ,it's popular too with most townsfolk turning out for Greenland's premier league games - so i maybe should have asked with that in mind  Wink

I believe Faroe Islands had the same problem of not having a green pitch to play on - they played games in Denmark until one was built in Thorshaven

This stadium in Torshaven was said to be built years before 1991 -so am confused here .

when I saw that Andorra has leagues I thought there must be nowhere that didn't.
Greenland good shout.
Andorra ffs - on the map of Europe it's tiny circle with about 8 microdots of colour to fill it up.

Odd Grenland, I always think wot a funny name (then bet 'em.they're quite good).

the whole Greenland thing is weird - being owned by Denmark and all. whole world hates UK - we might as well have taken Greenland too.
