Chelsea must be a big price if you think so cause they are no better than Liverpool or  Arsenal

Mr.E

have you not seen us play?
Report Mr Eboue February 16, 2012 7:42 PM GMT
I think they are better than us Tober.

i cant for the life of me seeing us get it and Liverpool surely cant....

I think Chelsea will come good sooner or later and put 4-5 wins together. ( something we or Liverpool dont seem great at )
Report Mr Eboue February 16, 2012 7:47 PM GMT
I have born.

But deep down you have good players that sooner or later will come good.
Report bornisthekingofSB February 16, 2012 7:48 PM GMT

4th place will be irrelevant when chelsea win the champions league this season Wink
Report TheAnorak February 16, 2012 8:11 PM GMT
The form team is Newcastle - last 8 games:

Newcastle 15pts, Arsenal 11, Chelsea 10, Liverpool 9

And they've achieved those 15pts with Cabaye, Tiote and Ba missing for some of the games. After two thirds of the season, surely time to take them seriously rather than assuming they'll collapse at some point.
Report berto77 February 16, 2012 8:11 PM GMT
Big chance for Liverpool with arsenal and Chelsea so weak.
Report sofaking February 16, 2012 11:39 PM GMT
I'd love to see Newcastle snatch 4th place.   I can't stand the other two contenders (Arse and Chelsea). Happy..
Report scoobykid February 17, 2012 10:33 AM GMT
Newcastle look value at 15's for a top four finish, from the remaining 12 games they have Arsenal and Chelsea away, with City and Liverpool at Home.

With Arsenal and Chelsea both able to drop points at will I quite fancy Newcastle to do it.
Report clarkey February 17, 2012 10:42 AM GMT
If Liverpool dont finish top 4 this season given the state of Arsenal and Chelsea, then it's been a massive failure of a season, win 2 cups or not.
Report dashero February 17, 2012 10:46 AM GMT
Kenny being exposed as the footballing dinosaur he is, hopefully pool win a cup and T-rex gets to stay on an Anfield...
Report clarkey February 17, 2012 10:52 AM GMT
He may or may not be a dinosaur but he's won more than 99% of managers who ever managed in the top league so have some respect please.
Report sintonian February 17, 2012 10:59 AM GMT
You'd have to think winning the League Cup will give Liverpool a big shot in the arm and you could see them kick-on a put a few wins together on the crest of a wave. They have that snarling parasite back,Suarez, too who has a point to prove.

Arsenal are just in disarray and we usually dip inform at this time of year. It has happended for the last 4 seasons.

Chelsea, phucks knows. I think they need shot of John Terry as he is still giving off toxic fumes and AVB does not appear to have much authority.

Evens CFC
13/8 AFC
7/2 LFC
14/1 NUFC

Take your pick or phone mystic meg.

Yes but won it in the jurassic period! What he has won 20 years ago is irrelevant unless he has been winning in the meantime which he hasn't, his tactics of parking the bus are what midtable fearful sides do and if it was Woy at the helm now employing those tactics the Anfield faithful would be in uproar...
Report clarkey February 17, 2012 11:03 AM GMT
If you look at it realistically,Liverpool look the safest bet.

Arsenal,if they play anything like they did against Milan for the rest of the season, wont get top 6,imo
Report bornisthekingofSB February 17, 2012 11:05 AM GMT
why should chelsea get rid of john terry?  he is one of the old guard i'd keep
Report clarkey February 17, 2012 11:05 AM GMT
"park the bus"???!!!!LaughLaugh

Liverpool have had more possesion and more shots on target(per game) than any other team this season!!!

Have a go at Liverpool's attack if you want but please refrain from such ludicrous cliche-riddled nonsense.Cheers.
Report dashero February 17, 2012 11:43 AM GMT
Most shots on target?? Liverpool ??? Can I have a source for this stat please?

Slight correction being they're top 3 with City and Chelsea now but were top when i last looked at the stats.

"fearful mid table side"......"park the bus"

Hardly.
Report hippie February 17, 2012 11:57 AM GMT
Even the link you provided shows you're talking nonsense. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see the truth - you're not in the top 5.

And I've a site in front of me says you made up the possession stat as well.

Computer says NO.

C'mon the Toon!

Laugh So you are listing stats that aren't accurate and trying to qualify your mistake with "but were top when i last looked at the stats."  That table is from jan 20th,you do know that when using stats you have to use the most up to date figures otherwise the stats are meaningless? the following table is from the 13feb...

Report berto77 February 17, 2012 12:04 PM GMT
The stats may be out but Liverpool don't park the bus (except in justified circumstances like at 0-1 away to city in cc).

Liverpools failing has been failing to kill teams off at home, not being too defensive.
Report clarkey February 17, 2012 12:11 PM GMT
dashero,

Thanks for helping my point.

As of Feb 13th Liverool had moved upto second in most shots this season.(skysports website)

Chelsea 353
Liverpool 338
Man City 337
Tottenham 335
Man Utd 303

Like i said, hardly a "park the bus team" my friend
Report the dza February 17, 2012 12:15 PM GMT
Liverpool just don't have forwards who can shoot, bar Bellamy.
Report hippie February 17, 2012 12:19 PM GMT
you said "shots on target" now you're including any kick towards the goal.

At the bottom of the page of the link you provided Liverpool have the most shots off target in the whole division.
Report clarkey February 17, 2012 12:24 PM GMT
dashero inferred that Liverpool were a park the bus team

I just pointed out the idiocy of such a statement.

whether it's Shots or shots on target is irrelevant because they must have been attacking at the time.
Report the dza February 17, 2012 12:27 PM GMT
Have to agree, Liverpool aren't a defensive team, except perhaps in games where the other side is superior (and even then, it's away from home). So no more defensive than anybody else, really.

Funny how fans and "pundits" waffle on about winning trophies , but as soon as that Champions League place is under threat the clubs concerned don't give toss about the FA or Carling Cup , 4th spot is , and has always been far more important than a tin pot.
Report cob316 February 17, 2012 2:49 PM GMT
Bob , I dont think Arsenal fans will agree with you, nor do I.

In years to come you wont be able to visit a club trophy room abd check out all the CL qualification trophies!

If Arse had won the 'worthless cup' then they wouldn't have gone 6/7 years with no silverware.
Report mafeking February 17, 2012 3:00 PM GMT
as a spurs fan though we are now starting to establish ourselves as regular contenders for a top 4 place i'd hate us to turn into the arsenal of the last few years where everything is about finishing in the top 4.

you go on our forums and even 10 points clear of 4th some of our i can only presume younger sky brainwashed generation of fans would have us pick a complete 2nd team for the cup tie at stevenage on sunday and save all our best players for the league. could never agree with that.
Report the dza February 17, 2012 3:06 PM GMT
Yes, I think it depends where you club is in its development. Spurs are almost capable of challenging for the league and for us, it's important to finish top 4 (top 3 imo) so that we can retain our good players and add to them.

If you finish in the top four every year but don't push on to be a title-challenging team, then I'd rather win a cup.

The boardrooms of all the clubs want the champions league money though.
Report sintonian February 17, 2012 4:13 PM GMT
That is exaclty what will happen though Mafe as you dont pay your players Champions League wages yet. As soon as you do, you'll see why it is so important to qualify.

SJ - you really want to keep JT ? The guy is bad for morale.
