So the situation brewing would surely make sense to be taken advtange of by someone. If Rangers went bust, start a new company/club, Rangers AFC etc, buy Ibrox of the administrators for pennies. Then gain concecutive promotions most season over 10-11 years and end up in the EPL. FC united are now only 2 promotions away from the Conference and they would have nowhere near the resources of a newly formed Rangers FC. Scotland and it's league don't work, the demographics, the geography, the economics, the population. The structure is just not their to run a major football league. Rangers should go this route for long term gain.

A very sensible suggestion UKM.

But to suggest all Scotland's population don't work is just mischievous. Mischief

Who's to say they will get successive promotions? It could take 20 maybe even 30 years to achieve EPL status
Report Dolly Dimple February 13, 2012 3:49 PM GMT
With their resources they could play every other day and get there 3 times faster

I hope they do, the SPL is complete and utter garbage !!! I'd love to see Rangers start up playing teams like Southport, or Aldershot, what a change it would be ...

if rangers do it...then Celtic will have to do it..
and that will be the end for scottish football.
Report Schalke 04 February 13, 2012 3:55 PM GMT
good, hope they do ... but scottish football in my opinion would get bigger without rangers and celtic, they have completely ruined the game here
Report Solano1 February 13, 2012 3:57 PM GMT
You have all missed the most important point here.

Have they got any good players, who are available on a free?
Report berto77 February 13, 2012 4:01 PM GMT
Administration is not liquidation.  More likely outcome is defaulting on much of their debt, points deduction and new owners.

Scottish football is rangers and Celtic.  Without them they may as well be league of Wales playing Rhyl or TNS.

Can you explain how we have ruined it

By being too good ... by having more money than anyone else, in the 80's it was one of the best leagues about
Report barrycool February 13, 2012 4:09 PM GMT
england dont want them, celtic could try the league of ireland.
Report Schalke 04 February 13, 2012 4:10 PM GMT
I reckon crowds would go back to games without Rangers and Celtic, the league is boring ... without rangers and celtic everyone actually can win win it, hope the two of them leave
Report Knight Rider February 13, 2012 4:12 PM GMT
Wouldn't they have to relocate to England though?
Report Schalke 04 February 13, 2012 4:13 PM GMT
about having more money than anyone else, obviously not Rangers at the moment but in the past, how can a Kilmarnock compete with £8m+ signings ? They can't, in the 80's it was all about scottish players, was brilliant ... now rangers and celtic have created their own problems by forcing the other teams out of busniess really, and the fans are sick to death with rangers and celtic ...
Report dbrfcno1 February 13, 2012 4:14 PM GMT
You may be right but the standard of football is shocking. Sky wont touch it. The old firm crowds alone would be hard to replace
Report Schalke 04 February 13, 2012 4:16 PM GMT
Knight Rider ... there are loads of teams in different leagues, you only have to look at swansea, cardiff and berwick ...
Report mrbojangles February 13, 2012 4:16 PM GMT
The administrators will sell the ground to the highest bidder so that counts out a new co/phoenix.
Report Schalke 04 February 13, 2012 4:16 PM GMT
I will put a bid in for the stadium ...
Report Ukmalllia February 13, 2012 4:20 PM GMT
The Main stand is a listed buidling now, so whoever gets it would have to keep that stand even if they wanted to knock the rest of it down. Won't get many bidders for that stadium other than for football purposes. The listed status of parts of it makes it non attractive for developes really.
