On the one hand i've actually started to feel sorry for the bloke over all the abuse he's taking but on the other hand he's clearly clueless and coming out with comments like this after last nights game are not going to help him.
"All we could control tonight was the game we were involved in and I felt we gave it a real good effort"
What game was he watching, they were awful again.
Funny rumour i have heard, which is probably rubbish, is that Venky's didn't realise you could be relegated from the premier league, they thought it was a closed shop like the IPL in cricket. Whoops.

I wonder if he will do the decent thing and resign? Somehow I doubt it. I am pretty sure he will be standing in the technical area next season, getting dogs abuse from thousands of Blackburn fans. In his delusional mind he thinks it's will blow over and it's not that serious. In reality they actually want to kill him. He'll be there giving it the thumbs up, nodding and winking to the someone in the stand - pretending like he is a real manager and that he has everything under control.
The words pathetic, delusional and possible insanity spring to mind.

"getting dogs abuse from thousands of Blackburn fans"
Change thousands to hundreds and you'll be closer to reality. Can't imagine too many Rovers fans will be rushing to renew their season tickets for next year.

For me he should sort out a settlement package with owners for good of club
He has managed the club into relegation(however nice he might be)and there is no way that club can go forward with him in charge. Just far too much bad feeling there and hes surely got to see that.

Had to laugh at the Rovers fan i saw last night burning his season ticket in protest.............after the last home game of the season
Well done that man, that'll show them!

Blackburn fans deserve all they get - hopefully they will be relegated net year as well. Blackburn really haven't been that far off the pace (they would have gone by now if they had been) and the 5-10% that supportive fans give could have been the difference. Wd Blackburn fans you got your wish!

were about 10th when sam sacked, kean then took them to brink of relegation last season with awful record and this season been easily relegated
they finished top 10 4 of previous 5 seasons only season didnt was when ince was in charge were about 10th when sam sacked, kean then took them to brink of relegation last season with awful record and this season been easily relegated
yes - must have been hard for the players knowing most of the people in the stadium wanted them to lose just so they could be proved right. Maybe kean should have gone last year but the 'fans' have been a disgrace and a spell in obscurity is fully deserved.

chelsea girl 08 May 12 12:00 Not one of their players is up to premiership standard, bar perhaps the keeper.
Yakubu, Hoilett, Olsson and Pedersen are easily premier league standard

Not quite sure how you can say a bloke who has got 16 goals in 28 games for a hopeless relegated side isn't up to premier league standard but each to their own

Venky's are clueless and Kean's a good bloke but needs to join a club where he will be respected cos he'll never win them over at Blackburn i don't think now

Another member signing in. Steve Kean is a bone fide hero. He took all the abuse thrown at him and it was like water off a chickens back. In an atmosphere of hatred and vitriol he never wavered from the course he had plotted out before him and last night it was mission accomplished.
Lesser men, weaker men would have got out there and then, and who could blame them - with a new identity and a cottage in the Ribble Valley he could have seen out his days in relative peace, but not for Kean. He's determined to take it a stage further, stay in the job and get them to League 1 and beyond.
A brave, brave man indeed. Agent Kean - we salute thee.

Finally the national media waking up to what this man has been shovelling all season. At least half a dozen games this season he has just parked 11 men and tried to keep the score down, then spouted his bile. Unfortunately (for him) against Spurs Gary Neville et all had been ripping the p@ss out of the performance before he came out with his usual gurge. The man even lied to the police ffs (no officer, not had a drink/only 1 bottle of budweiser/oh and a glass of red with Fergie/naughty Rovers fans spiked my drink). For all people coming on here defending him would anyone want him managing their club? Thought not.

In fairness to Kean i don't think ultimately the blame can be placed at his door.
Blackburn have been struggling for a while. They were going down under Ince and only Allardyce kept them up. In fairness to Sam he is a master at getting the maximum out of limited players no matter how ugly it may be on the pitch.
In recent years financially Blackburn have only kept going by selling a star player for big money ala Santa Cruz and Bentley.
Quite how Venkeys thought Blackburn would provide a good return when 80-90% of income was going on wages astounds me.
Anyway back to Kean. Over the last twelve months he has lost experienced players Samba, Nelson, Emerton, Salgado due to cost cutting and the clubs brighest star Phil Jones was sold. This was probably necessary to balance the books especially once Barclays pulled the plug.
In Kean's favour the players have stuck by him 100% as seen by Orr last night. A revolt from them at any point would have seen him gone. Blackburn have also scored the most goals from dead ball situations an indication of decent coaching. I very much doubt Kean has had a say in who was brought in this has mainly been done by agents.

After relegation and that chicken on the pitch, a disgruntled Rovers fan goes through his manager's press clippingshttp://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/steve-kean-20-damning-quotes-823871
why does he bother chelsea's reserves will tank us 4-0 whether he decides to set up not to have a shot on target or go out and attack them. may as well stay at home steve and start planning some new tactics for a promotion charge. i just hope your not in charge for the promotion charge as we will be charging towards league one

Despite leading his side to relegation last night, Steve Kean still retains the sympathy of many outside Blackburn for the shocking lack of support he's received from owners Venky's.
But Rovers fan Gordon Moulden says you'd feel different if you had to listen to the baldy-head Scot every day. Here are 20 Keano quotes with Gordon's comments afterwards...
Steve said: “We are not going to be able to invent 10 games where we can go on an unbeaten run because there are not enough games left.”
Gordon says: Steve is certainly on top of things.
Steve on Ryan Nelsen: “He's in a bad way. I've just been to see him. He's in traction. We need experienced players in the team and I can't wait to get him back, but I doubt he'll be let out before the end of the season."
Gordon says: Four days later Nelsen made his debut for Spurs.
Steve on Junior Hoilett, December 2010: “He's desperate to sign, we're making progress”.
Gordon says: Needless to say, Hoilett will walk away for nothing in the coming weeks.
Steve said: “We feel that Myles Anderson is a player with great potential as a late developer. He could become something of a Chris Smalling, who came through late in football and Myles has done the same.”
Gordon says: Myles Anderson, son of Kean's agent Jerome, has never played for Blackburn.
Steve said: “Bruno - or Denis after Denis Irwin, the boys call him, because he never gives the ball away - will fill in that position and that is great for us."
Gordon says: Bruno Ribeiro - or Denis - has never played for Rovers. None of us even knows what he looks like!
Steve said: “David’s always been put on a par with a young Rooney and he can certainly score all types of goals… It’s not just nice tap-ins, he can create a goal for himself, score from outside the box, chip them in, pass them in, smash them in."
Gordon says: A young Mickey Rooney? David Goodwillie has scored two league goals this season.
Steve said: “There is no way Chris Samba is leaving this football club. I've spoken to the owners and that's the end of the matter.”
Gordon says: Samba left two weeks later.
Steve on being knocked out of the Carling Cup quarter-finals by Cardiff: “We are in a position where we have forfeited going through and having the chance to reach a Cup final. We have games against sides within touching distance of us in the league. We need to treat those games as Cup finals.”
Gordon says: Why did he not say that beforehand in order to save supporters a wasted journey? We ended up 'forfeiting' a lot of those other 'Cup finals' too.
Steve on the January 2012 transfer window: “We are going to do our business early and get experienced players."
Gordon says: The unknown Antony Modeste arrived on January 19th. The rest of the business was done on deadline day and the ‘experienced’ players were uncapped Bradley Orr and the obscure Marcus Olsson.
Steve said: “The most important thing is 99% of the fans didn't demonstrate”.
Gordon says: Maths isn't his strong point.
Steve said: “I live in the area but I don’t go out in Blackburn because I can’t. You just never know who you might run into.”
Gordon says: Steve has been attacked and threatened on the mean streets of Blackburn zero times.
Steve said: “Our break in Dubai went really well. From a medical point of view I have been told vitamin D levels were very high in the lads when they come back due to the sunshine.”
Gordon says: So basically they just topped up their tans?
Steve said: “Judge us after the transfer window is closed.”
Gordon says: Judged.
Steve on November 22nd: “Yes, there have been discussions about a new contract, but I have told the owners that this is an inappropriate time to conclude any new contract discussions. Instead, the real issue is for me and everyone else to concentrate on the games.”
Gordon says: Steve signed a new contract on November 25th.
Steve on the plane carrying a protest banner over Ewood: “I didn’t see the plane and I don’t know what it said."
Gordon says: TV pictures appearing to show Steve looking at the plane must have been misleading.
Steve said: “The owners are very knowledgeable."
Gordon says: The stories about them not realising Rovers could get relegated are untrue, then?
Steve said: “I believe I was good enough to play for Celtic.”
Gordon says: Steve Kean played for Alloa, Academia Coimbra, Bath City and Newbury Town.
Steve said: “We've had monumental results this season, including back-to-back clean sheets".
Gordon says: This comedy writes itself.
Steve said: “Relegation hasn’t even been considered.”
Gordon says: This was after the record-breaking away match at Tottenham on 29 April, in which Rovers did not get a single shot on or off target. I was certainly considering relegation after watching that.
Steve said: “All the pundits are wrong and I'm right.”
Gordon says: Or maybe not.

He's sure to get a standing ovation with chants of Kean-o Kean-o if he's still in charge when they visit Burnley next season.
Along with the Venkys, he has done a sterling job in steering Blackburn towards relegation. A serious lack of judgement in keeping a manager who is clearly out of his depth from owners who seem hell-bent on destroying the club.
I'm off to buy a bucket of Venkys chicken
