Is this big or is it me ?

A well established big club, at the top end of the championship.
Should beat Millwall at home in the replay tonight.
Drawn at home to Bolton in the 5th round, not much between them in league placings at the moment, Soton strong at home, and Coyle normally plays weak teams in the cup, would fancy them to progress from this.
Then they're in the last 8, obviously need a good draw preferably at home, but if they are at home, who would they fear, Spurs and maybe Liverpool? The main two imo City & United have gone. Even a home tie against Chelsea would give you hope they way they've been playing recently.
Nothing to say these teams wont lose in the 5th round though, and Soton will get another cracking draw. Anyway they'd be in the last 8 with 2 games to win for a 40/1 return.
Even if they drew a top side away, with that premiership pedigree and good form, it'd not exactly be possible to get a draw, and get them back to St Marys under the lights.

Does it seem a worthwhile bet or not?

Southampton....premiership pedigree?

I think it's a waste of £2.

Well they are flying in the championship, get big crowds and have all the facilities, how would you price up a potential semi final, one off game at Wembley against Sunderland/Everton/Norwich for example, wouldnt exactly have them as massive underdogs.

I'd go as far as saying, they'd be better odds in a game against any of those 3 at Wembley, than Millwall are tonight.

And no they obviously arent guarenteed to win tonight, but theyre 1/3 to do so, and i fancy them to.

I think we can all agree that we have all spunked money on worse, and its probably worth a small punt.

they are 80 because they still have a replay against Millwall - if they win the price will come down to 30 - or similar to a mediocre EPL team .

I would fancy them to beat Bolton - but both teams will have other things on their mind

anyway, their form is a bit shaky of late

Southampton....premiership pedigree?
___________
hmm,i'd say theyre as good as 12 in the EPL ,if not better

Norwich and Swansea are hardly struggling

When you consider that if they played Chelsea Arsenal Spurs or Liverpool they'd be 5/1 to win the tie and that in all likelihood they'd have to beat two of them to lift the cup you'll realsise that they aren't a great price.  They are 6/4 to make the last 8.

Of course the mighty StevenageLove will probably humiliate Spurs which will make it even harder for SouthamptonCool
Report CLYDEBANK29 February 7, 2012 1:12 PM GMT
Stevenage completely outplayed Reading.....Reading are about as good as Southampton...Norwich and Swansea are hardly struggling which makes Southampton as good as half the EPL....Stevenage are therefore as good as Spurs....Stevenage have home advantage and may rest players....

Computer says....Home winGrin

....correction.....Stevenage have home advantage and (insert Spurs here) may rest players
