What are you thoughts for the season ahead? is McCoist the right man for the job or would a more experienced manager been the better option following on from Walter Smith? Can see a clean sweep this season. No mug comments from Celtic fans, cheers.

We need signings Jelavic will be humphy backet if he does not get some more support up front.
Midfield we are not bad but we need central defenders & a front man.
Ortiz cannot lace Wylde`s boots but is getting the shirt because the young lad will not sign a new contract.
The big Romanian at the back is just settling in but he looks as if he wants time on the ball he wont get that in a lot of games this season.
Ness is a good prospect hope he stays on Danny Wilson is an example of what can happen to youngsters that move on before their time he should have played in Gers first team for a few years.
We may be getting Danny back which would be good but we still need someone with pedigree for that cental defensive position.
I am hopeful of a successful season if we get the players needed in before the deadline.

RANGERS will approach Swedish outfit Orebro to try to complete a deal for Alex Bedoya now after being granted a work permit for the American midfielder today.

The Light Blues have already concluded a pre-contract for Bedoya to join in January. However, they were given clearance on the player today and will attempt to bring him in as soon as possible.

It has also been confirmed by boss Ally McCoist that a deal has been done with Australian midfielder Matt McKay and Rangers are now waiting for a work permit to be processesd so that he can be brought onboard.

However, the manager accepts that the chances of signing Hungarian centre back Roland Juhasz appear to be fading. He is still keen on Carlos Cuellar but the stumbling block is that the former Ranger won't be fit until the middle of next month.

McCoist also indicated that he could be open to a loan move for another former Ranger, Danny Wilson.

He said today: "The good news is that we got a work permit this morning for Alejandro Bedoya. In an ideal world for all parties we would like to get a deal done sonner rather than later.

"I will speak to Craig Whyte and see if we can do a deal with Orebro and it would be ideal if we could have Bedoya registered for next week's Europa League match in Maribor."

You really should respect the OP`s request of Rangers men only on this thread please.
I am sure the neutrals will be observing that the Celtic thread has been left for celtic men to discuss their club in peace.

sod off the brave Grin

In other news:

Whatever happens, it's important McCoist is there until the end of the season, players are already used to him as Assistant, but now the mentality he has to carry with the players is in transition, the relationship has to be different, something everyone has to get used to still at Ibrox, less laughing and joking with them and a more serious tone needed.

Anyone know what is going on with Gregg Wylde as we seem to be getting conflicting reports?
Would hate to see him leave as he looks a top prospect.

Can only improve, his da was a smashing footballer, got a real bad injury after a nasty challenge and never played again when with Kilmarnock.

must be worth more than 400k, or scottish football is really fcucked.

We are getting humped aw-wiys.

I suppose as a fan you shouldn't care really, if you get Wilson back and he does a turn, and you need good players in badly and he is one, let the rangers fanatic from motherwell worry about the financial side.

SWEDES Orebro have hit out at Rangers over their botched attempts to land midfielder Alejandro Bedoya.

The Ibrox club put in a new offer for the 24-year-old USA internationalist on Friday after boss Ally McCoist admitted he wanted to sign him as a wildcard for the Europa League qualifying clash with Maribor.

However, Orebro director of transfers Magnus Skoldmark has revealed the proposal was worth even less than the two rejected bids they had previously submitted.

Rangers look sure to go back in for Bedoya in a bid to strike an agreement – with Orebro sources claiming they offered a paltry £150,000 at the end of last week.

But Skoldmark concedes he’s been left gobsmacked by the SPL champions’ behaviour as they push to land a player they have already agreed a pre-contract with and have secured a work permit for.

Skoldmark refused to make any fresh comment when contacted by Express Sport last night.

However, he did confirm he had spoken to the Swedish media and stood by the remarks that appeared in print.

Former Dundee United player Skoldmark said: “I do not know what Rangers are doing.

We had rejected two earlier bids and now they’ve come in with one even lower.

“I am giving no figures, but it is very strange behaviour.

“I am confused. They say they want him, but do not show it.

“It sends out strange signals, not least to Bedoya himself.”

Bedoya is currently scheduled to join Rangers in January after the Swedish season has finished and his contract with Orebro has run out.

However, the Ibrox club are keen to land him this week and plan to continue talking with an Orebro board that is clearly becoming tired of the saga.

Skoldmark said: “We’ve no reason to give away players when we have league bonuses to play for that would be worth more than what Rangers are offering.”

What chance do we have of signing these guys that everyone posts about when we can only offer an up and coming star like wylde (who is already better than most of these guys) £800 per week. Get real. Crying out for a winger and we have one sitting there about to walk.
If rangers had any cash they would not be haggling over this boy's contract with such a derisory offer.
I was going to say were becoming a laughing stock but I think we're excelling ourselves in this department and are already a laughing stock.
............................................

Took this from a Rangers board this evening Malay if that`s all Rangers are putting up for this kid then something is seriously wrong at Ibrox.
We have a number of squibs / empty boxes in the squad but this kid is not one of them.
Owen Coyle is no fool & has been in for Wylde today.

The other side of the story is that there is less time left on the American international`s contract with the swede`s which makes a wee bit of sense.

Hi mack,
It does seem to smack of the goodwillie nonsenese though doesn't it?
Go in with bids you know are not going to be accepted, then when you get too close, say you want to pay it up over 4 years. (who would accept those terms from rangers just now with all the tax carry on)
It's almost as if they are just kiddy on bids to appease the hordes.

Yes ...I would have to agree with that Liam the transfer dealings of Rangers FC thus far have been amateurish in the extreme.
Before the deadline we need a front player & 2 central defenders on top of the Aussie McKay & the Yank Bedoya.
The big Romanian lad looks ponderous to the eye... he will get owned in a slick match up.

Hi aaronh

Rangers need signings... see above... or we will be winning nothing this season.
If we get the players required then we would have a fighting chance but the tic may settle better early doors which could prove difficult to peg back.
They seem to be able to blow away lesser teams but will always struggle against any side of near or equal ability that can put out their starting (11).
