Not an ideal start to the season losing to a lucky goal in injury time,
We looked quite solid in defence,we just need a goal poacher we can buy one with the Parker money seeing as he played like he didn't want to be there can't blame him really.

My first away game of the season performance wasn't that good tbh but we got the 3 points.We still sit 2nd with a 3 point gap and big GD over 3rd place,34 points from 17 bang on 2 points per game promotion form 92 points at the end of the season and back to where we belong.

Definitely think West Ham will win the league.
If the league was solely down to the 1st XI we'd win it, but football is very much a squad game nowadays and I think that West Ham have a large enough squad to get the job done comfortably.
I'm not too bothered though, I genuinely don't care if we go up 1st, 2nd or 6th via the play-offs, but I do think West Ham have the best strength in depth.
I actually think we might well beat West Ham at Upton Park, as I say our first XI is probably the best in the league, but I just don't see us being consistent enough to actually win it.

Sam Allardyce has appealed to the majority of Hammers fans to drown out any negativity that may arise when West Ham take on Reading at the Boleyn Ground tomorrow afternoon.
Allardyce, speaking on Talksport this morning pleaded with all Hammers fans to get behind the team when they take on the Royals in what will be the club's most important game of the season so far.
Should West Ham manage to overcome the challenge on the in-form Berkshire side they will find themselves just three points behind current leaders Southampton, who face a difficult trip to Blackpool in tomorrow's late kick-off (5:20pm).
However Allardyce is concerned that an element of the home crowd may put a spanner in the works by voicing their disapproval should all not go to plan during the game - something that he is keen for the rest of the crowd - the vast majority - to shout down.
"We've got to try and drown out the negativity if we can," he said. "If we see the team struggling, cheer it on to try and get over the particular difficult period.
"If Reading are going to come and sit back and sit in then you can't play a fluent game of football no matter who you are. I watched Manchester United and Fulham this week and there were spells in that game where they [Man Utd] couldn't get the normal flowing football that they wanted going.
"But they still achieved the ultimate [aim] at the end of the day and won the game. You've got to win the game - and if you can win the game and you've been fantastic with great entertainment that's fine. But it's about winning and getting over the line now."
Allardyce admitted that supporters may have to show a degree of patience - as happened in midweek at Peterbough when an insipid first half display was followed by an outstanding second period.
"If you look at the Peterborough game, Peterborough had the early stages of the game," said Sam. "They shut us down from the front and we couldn't get the ball out and get the ball down - but we knew they wouldn't last.
"They tired, spaces opened up and then we completely outplayed and outpassed them and beat them quite comfortably - and that's what might happen on Saturday.
"But the best way to get the game flowing is for us to score as early as we can, because if there's any negative tactics then of course the opposition can sit in and frustrate you, they're quite entitled to do that. I used to do that myself when I played away from home.
"If you can score first and score early then that changes the way the play and you get a more open and more game where you can perhaps provide more entertainment. At the end of the day we want to win and most West Ham fans want to win. I don't know a West Ham who says 'we don't want to win'."

West Ham's new owners have talked of the club's troubles, but Champions League talk shows they have plenty of ambition

Bar-room chat for West Ham supporters revelling in David Gold's and David Sullivan's arrival as co-owners will centre on the latter's bullish assertion that playing in the Champions League is now the ultimate ambition.
"We have a seven-year plan to get them into the Champions League and turn them into a big club and over the seven-year period we do plan to spend a lot of money," Sullivan said yesterday, although details of this masterplan were not forthcoming. And Hammers aficionados may recall this was also a promise of Eggert Magnusson and Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson, when the Icelandic duo took control of the club in the autumn of 2006.
Yesterday Sullivan and Gold were scathing about the pair, blaming much of the club's current malaise – they claim there are debts of £110m and rising – on the over-priced, overpaid footballers signed during that regime.
They have a point, of course. "Egghead", as Sullivan delighted in calling the former biscuit tycoon, was frighteningly out of his depth – it seems faintly ridiculous he was allowed to wreak such havoc by Gudmundsson, who had been a successful enough businessman to feature strongly in the Forbes Rich List before Iceland went bust.
But while the great dream lasted they did at least back the stated ambition with Champions League wages (even Lucas Neill was signed on £60,000 a week) and performers including Craig Bellamy, Kieron Dyer and Freddie Ljungberg, who brought actual experience of the competition to east London.
Yet throwing a skip-full of money at the European dream ultimately proved unworkable. And now Sullivan and Gold have strode in to Upton Park to inform fans they can make it happen, by 2017.
How? Despite their prevalent theme so far being the crippling debt, while also offering an impression that there is scant finance for Gianfranco Zola to invest in the squad, Sullivan made that promise to "spend lots of money" to chase entry into Europe's premier club competition.
Sullivan and Gold's main strategy for raising the funds required to sign their own Champions League performers appears to be to corral Air Asia and Lotus F1 boss Tony Fernandes – and other rich fans – to come on board, plus a move to the Olympic Stadium once the 2012 games are over, so increasing gate revenue from the Boleyn Ground's 31,892 capacity to 50,000.
While it is not clear who would pick up the £100m tab for converting the stadium (if West Ham were to be given the green light to move three miles across Newham) beyond this is the more pressing, short-term issue: can Zola keep the team clear of the relegation trap-door while Sullivan and Gold stem the club's financial incontinence?
