Whilst the ryder cup is a brilliant event the biggest shame this week has been the constant digs at faldo's captaincy two years ago
yes faldo is very obsessed with himself and his captaincy was not good but it takes away the memory of what a truly great golfer that he was

Agreed jj, Faldo was a great golfer, however he got it wrong in 2008! His tactic of saving the best players till the last singles was flawed especially when you consider that Europe were 2 down going in to the last day. but he wasn't helped by the big guns not performing. Garcia,Westwood and Harrington didn't turn up.

pretty shocking the players basically absolved themselves of any responsibility. hacks only too willing to jump on the bandwagon. most of them have a grudge against faldo going back decades.

Agreed Faldo was a great golfer but a f***ing W@NK Captain.

could have bogied the last in the us open 2005 and won, he didnt realise at the time and blew it, also lost a playoff to earnie ells a few years earlier, won a record number of europeen order of merits and a ryder cup legend.

dsmith is right, the yanks hate Monty and he used to take the bait, which I reckon is the reason why he never won a major, good old mrs doubtfire.
