In my local train station there is a Lads, which is handy to shove a few small punts on whilst passing the time waiting for a delayed train.

Yesterday I saw some fella shove the best part of £300 (I imagine - it was a large number of twenties) into a machine.

Then he disappeared for about 20 minutes and came back and shoved a load more in.

Didnt look the type to be able to lose that sort of dough so you have to wonder what these people do after losing an absolute wedge like that.

I suppose there isnt really a difference maine rd, except the second doesnt happen in public.

Not that that makes it any better or worse, its just that I wouldnt be able to stand there watching him do his dough when he's in the privacy of his own room.

I was once non-plussed to observe the manageress of the local Billy Mountains feeding Elgars into a FOBT in a Joke Orals.

our area manager at joke orals (now no longer with the company) was famous for it. shows how much shop staff really understand about them.

Maybe they are working on the old fruit machine adage, so many have filled the machines they must be ripe for a payout! Laugh

The thing is love em or hate em, for every story of someone who loses lots, someone else will have won plenty, if someone walked into a betting shop with a fiver, they would ave a lot more chance of walking out with say £100 by using a fobt, than trying to amass that amount by backing horses
