Ive had a relatively large loss for me
(Drunk Man City bet £1500 loss)

i normally trade 99.95%  as opposed to drunk betting 0.05%! and will take me a week if i trade as normal using much smaller amounts than 1500!

yesterday traded 250 so now stand at -1250

how do you stop chasing losses ???

ive done this before having to come back from silly drunk bets late at night

so tempting just to put 1300 on an evens shot .that doest come in then  2600 .,..(the martingale system which has killed many a gambler)

everytime i have to come back slow like this i have a voice in my head just saying martingale it!

I really wanted to ask how do you stop chasing losses ????

all i  know is when i first started on here and wasnt trading and just gambling on favs and form

i ended up losing all my winnings by chasing losses

thats why i never chase now  but so difficult not to chase

Rs1, you need to recondition your response to losing. I know at the back of yur mind you are still thinking about some sort of easy get out today to get your money back. Which will lose of course as you won't be thinking straight.

Switch off your computer & go out for a walk of something. Don't log into betfair until you've accepted what you did and are ready to carry on as NORMAL. Also accept that you won't feel in that frame of mind today.

Just go & do something else.

yep, ill second turtleshead. Betfairs defualt limit for loss = £none!, which is dangerous IMO. The least amount of time to change this is a week, so even if drunk and you wanted to change it, you could not. Second, and not preaching here, i am guilty as well, dont drink and bet. The only way to get your money back is to show patience and get it back slowly, which you seem to do.

Just be content with the fact you wont have to start a premium charge thread next week!
If you made £250 back yesterday another six days will see you back where you were so to consider chasing is ridiculous. If you feel bad for that loss when you were drunk and had no edge imagine how you'll feel if your chase bet goes t1ts up, it's a cycle that will get repeated and become a mindset so, and i know it's easier said than done, don't put yourself in positions in future where you'll need to chase. See it as a lesson.

worst thing is i done this back in march last time and had a losing bet of 1200ish and made a thread . seems its  a cycleSad

i know its foolish to chase . never done it for over a year now and my reward is this 1500 loss isnt a massive blow to my bank

i can chase and know i have the collateral to have quite a few losers before a winner . but also know this is how you  can get in to big trouble

its just this hard time like now in the middle

So you're using winnings to chase your losses? The mind boggles.
You never chase now but you're asking the forums advice how you can stop chasing, even though you have winnings.

Alcohol will always trick you into believing that there is such a thing as easy money. You might win once or twice but in the end it will always crucify you.If you had won on City you probably would have stayed up and done a bet on the Brazilian football aswell.Gamble, Alcohol Free!
