Tony McCoy current favourite - does he have mainstream support. Racing is a minor sport after all.

Andy Murray - will have to win US Open

Lewis Hamilton - repulsive human being, the public hate him.

Graeme McDowell - won US Open but most people haven't got a clue who he is.

The bird who won a Winter Olympic gold - even I can't remember her name.

Mohammad Farah - will probably win two golds at the Euros. Can't see the public warming to him.

No footballer will win it.

Ashes doesn't get going till after sports personality so no cricketer will win it.

Who the fcuk wins it???Cry

Meat Loaf ought to be encouraged tbh.  This is after all a betting exchange.[;)]

I've backed Mccoy several times in the past at big odds and given up doing so because the beeb are a bunch of cretins and never nominate him. Of course he's now a 5/2 favourite when I don't bother CryCryCry On the assumption he is put up this time he's just about a cert.

Ignoring the unnecessary vulgar tone of the thread question, I think McCoy is a bad value favourite . Horse racing just does not feature on your average (youngish) sport personality voter's radar anymore

This is down to phone votes, regional and Press support and tinternet campaigns.

Lay McCoy at your peril.  He will almost certainly get nominated for the final few as McGovern is on the case.

Shouldn't this thread be called .. ''Who gives a phuck about winning sports personality of the year'' Confused
Report dsmith July 30, 2010 5:20 PM BST
how can you predict, jessica ennis wins heptathlon world championship, button wins f1 and giggs wins spoty?
Report Biancoceleste July 30, 2010 5:30 PM BST
Just a popularity contest, the fact Giggs beat Ennis and Button last year just made it into a total farce. You will never defeat the plastic mancs and dumb British public for sheer numbers.

should be Phil Taylor or Jess Ennis. Phil because his record is incredible. Jess because she's talented and gorgeous!

8 months on and they are still seething about giggs.

its a good fcuking question, who the fcuk wins sports personality of the year? im fcuked if i know, to be fcuking honest.

AP's time may come especially after his Grand National win. If AP was in any mainstream sport he would of swooped on the trophy a long time ago. David Haye would be my bet if he gets a big fight in.
