they cant afford his wages

Fook me 60k at Villa Cry.
Report Jmr78 July 29, 2010 4:12 PM BST
Wouldn't say "can't afford his wages" more like £45k a week for back up is about right, £60k a week would be daft.
Report fkqmz July 29, 2010 4:13 PM BST
45k for cover is ridiculous. not often i say this but well done lfc for not bowing to the greedy coont. let him slum it out in the europa league........oh wait Laugh

Crazy.. MON obviously won't play him and he must have earned a good wedge already yet he is happy to rot in the stiffs... All that is wrong with football today summed up by greedy players..

According to reports he wanted paying off by Villa before he joined Liverpool! If the transfer goes through eventually he'll say he'd have come to Liverpool for nothing and it was his dream as a young boy
Report Dylan1975 July 29, 2010 4:29 PM BST
i don't think he'd be a starter at Liverpool so his option is move to Liverpool on lower wages where hes still not a starter or stay at Villa earn £15k more a week.

The only difference is apparently hes fallen out with MON so at least at Liverpool he'd be working for a manager that wants him.

I was a little worried when I read "will young join liverpool" wondered why we would be after a singer songwriter when its a left back we need

Now he's off to Fulham. Says he didn't want to move his family up Norf

Never thought I'd see the day when Fulham were a bigger attraction than Liverpool. How the mighty have fallen Cry
Report ours4keeps July 29, 2010 10:43 PM BST
and bigger than Villa aswell Cry

if he's holding out for extra dosh instead of the chance to play for LFC in the twilight of his career then he deserves to be filed under Lucas Neill imo.
Report theresbeenagoal July 30, 2010 1:17 AM BST
to be fair lucas neill is undoubtedly richer from pursuing his chosen path than if he'd signed for the reds. if you'se had signed luke young i'd have laughed. file under: near miss.
Report charwell. July 30, 2010 1:21 AM BST
When Lucas is 60 and looks back on his career he never played for a truly great club. SO what if he has 6 sports cars instead of 4 and a £5 million house instead of £4 million. What price pride? Don't want any players who sell their soul and Young can feck off.
Report theresbeenagoal July 30, 2010 2:41 AM BST
I'm sure he'll be gutted in 25 years time that he never turned out for a self professed truly great club that won fúck all in the period he was going to play for them.
Report bornisthekingofSB July 30, 2010 7:04 AM BST
nothing to do with wages, luke was a move closer to 'home'
