if i were hodgson i wouldnt wanna work with him.
when he was at bolton he messed ut up big time and almost got the team relegated,the board acted quickly and replaced him.
at liverpool in his first season(if i am not mistaken)liverpool out of the top 4 and manager got sucked.
i really think he is a decent fella but brings a lot of bad luck with him
p.s not to mention what happened to the national team when he was involved

In all fairness he was Assistant manager from May 2008 which means he was the AM when Liverpool finished 2ND in the league just a few points behind Man U !
