Happened to me, you will have to deposit or wait for a bet to be settled.  If your account is even a penny in a negative balance it will not let you place a bet.  It wouldn't even let me trade when it happened to me a while back.

Was worse for me i had alot of money on a golf tournie and it would not let me trade. I phoned Betfair and they told me it was because my account was in a negative balance and they told me to deposit £10 to clear it.  I told them my money was tied up in here and i couldn't deposit any more off my card but they said there was nothing they could do.  I lost a fair chunk because of it.

it's an issue they have no had for several years.  Your balance will never increase by a penny but you will often lose a penny.  I have no idea how but it's certainly something important they can't be bothered to sort out.

You need to always leave some loose change on your account balance,so this won't happen again.Sweaty balls time if it does and the market goes against you.As with everything we learn the hard way.
