Or will it spiral into bitter jealousy, a bit like in the world cup

Im sure England will pull off a top show. Englands pompous attitude doesnt win many fans. Its not jealousy.

not that bothered with them not very exciting but iam scottish but i do see the brit team as brits not english scots or wotever so good luck but bar cycling and rowing cant see much joy as think the football has to be under 21's plus 2 or 3 older players so if spain fancy it then whos going to beat them?

I'm too busy getting my head round why we're hosting the 2014 Commonwealth games.  Yes, the Olympics will cost a lot more, and yes, the Olympics have been dull as sh1twater since 88, but alot of people seem to like it, when it comes round.  I couldn't care less. Pound for pound though, the money spent on the Commonwealth Games will be disgusting.  Totally unjustfied for this Mickey Mouse event.  The organisers should be jailed for the money that's gonna be blown on this pantomime.

it is just the same mentality as when all the braindeads sing "the RAF from England" song at the football. As it happens I'm very much looking forward to the Olympics being held in the UK and attending a few events (and hopefully the World Cup in 2018). What I am not looking forward to is the constant reference to "Team GB" over the next two years (I even heard a golden generation referenced yesterday!) Why can't they just refer to British athletes as representing Great Britain & NI or the UK?

Can the Scots sing "Braveheart" when your atheletes win a gold medal?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

One German ask me, "Where is Scotland? Is it in Europe?"

I told him, "Somewhere in Rwanda"

"Oh I see"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
