Dixie did but he/she got the wrong symbols
1x2x3+4+5x6-7+8+9 |
|
By:
(1) + ((2 + 3 + 4) x (-5 + 6 - 7 + 8 + 9))
= (1) + ((9) x (11)) = 1 + 99 = 100 quod est demonstratum |

|
|
By:
ha ther's a load of correct answers
1+2+3+4+5+6+7+[8x9] = 100 |
|
By:
If you stick to the question exactly only + - * % and not brackets:
Dixes works out to be: 1x2x3+4+5x6-7+8+9 = 57 Mine works out to be: 1+2+3+4x-5+6-7+8+9 = 2 following correct mathematic order of calculations, would be interested if the OP has the answer where no brackets are used and this order is followed? |
|
By:
1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8x9 = 100
is the only correct answer on the thread so far. Yeah SoC did maths ![]() |

Thought so xD Only true maths geeks use QED

Ah [:p] I'm at manchester now, deciding whether to carry on with 2nd and 3rd years or drop out and do accountancy job ;x

MM it will come out right on a standard calc cos it doesnt follow proper maths rules, without brackets you have to do the multiplies first so works out as:
1x2x3+4+30-7+8+9 try it in excel and it will come out as 50. |

i dropped out then had good money for my age but some of my mates who got the degree and struggled on nothing are obviously reaping the benefits now, up to you whether you think it's worth it.
