england were so much better in the 70s and 80s when there were no foreigners

Players are only interested in the money, the shirt doesn't count. There are exceptions....Giggs Scholes etc. but not many.

Do you not just think that English players are not good enough? Cheaper foreign alternative comes up and he gets replaced simple as that.
As for the England team the whole world has moved on whilst we continue to play the same football we have done for years, if anything foreign players coming into england raises the skill level and teaches english players other styles. As a footballing nation we have been stagnant for years look at the top countrys in the world and the style is completely different to England, they pass and pass until an opening is created and chance to shoot develops not like the disjointed play that we have to endure. |

the premier league is a global brand watched around the world. There is so much money swashing around that players want to come to england.
The reality is that the best striker in togo or paraguay is better than the 20th best in england. |

Quite remarkable that a Jock can have a pop at English football.Have you seen the state of your own product ?

Why worry about some English footballers, have you seen the state of the average English PERSON? Fooking disgrace!! Scots no better. If you're so desperate to improve someone take a good look in the mirror. Plenty of room for improvement.

Why is Capello not over in France watching the under 19's tonight? He answers to NO one. Even Talksport offered him a private jet!! Is that the way forward? |

I know of no other club in Britain apart from Glasgow Rangers who have had a league attendace of 118,000 or an away support of well over 200,000.
Unless some Englishman can enlighten me? |

By:
You could have a million people there. When your big signings are of the calibre both Old Firm clubs have been dealing in the last decade you should know that your clinging on to mediocrity let alone big club status.

inner city sumo, poor teams at the moment, but massive clubs.

On a par with sides like Steaua, Panathanikos, the artist formerly know as Red Star and so on. Strong tradition at both clubs, but best days behind them due to the way the game has developed in other countries. Big clubs can sign big players.

True, and if the old firm were in the Premiership, they would sign big players.

They hold the biggest league attendance in britain for a home game....118,000 And had over 200,000 fans at the uefa cup final 3 years ago. (the police believe the figure is closer to 250,000) |
