Ashley wants another contract, FACT.
He knows MoN gave him his big chance, is still his biggest fan and he is grateful it seems. Agreed, we can replace Milner, no way on earth we can get another diamond like Ash. |
|
By:
is there any big clubs interested in him?
|
|
By:
Only citeh could afford him

Wasting his career. 25 years old now.... What's the point - if you're any sort of decent player - in pisssing your talent away at a tedious nothing little team like Aston Villa?
Knowing every pre-season that the overwhelming likelihood is a safe upper-mid-table finish must be very disheartening. |
|
By:
I'm not really sure if he's good enough to play at a higher level. He's been a bit disappointing in the last couple of seasons.
|
|
By:
You honestly believe that?
Not been disappointing for me, just gets doubled up by the markers now they know how good he is. |
|
By:
lennon gets doubled up and still produces crosses and chances. same with walcott (not so much). why did young still do so poorly or can he not handle being double marked?
|
|
By:
dont mind young being double teamed, means opps have one fewer player elsewhere on the pitch. also happy for milner to be double teamed, makes it 9 against 7.

Who do you support Diaz?

this is all from statbunker.com
ashley young 6 assists last season. lennon 9 assists (injured for 5 months from dec to april) van persie 6 assists (injured for a very long time, not sure how long) joe cole 6 assists (injured for most season) adam johnson 6 assists (only joined City in feb) young just isnt very good at the highest level, hence not playing for england much either. |

not as over rated as torres anyway

Rod Hull. Stats for assists are meaningless. You could multiply ASHLEY'S by a factor of a hundred if Emile Heskey wasn't on the end of most of his crosses.
|
|
By:
CJ correct, ASHLEY is worth three Milners.

From Wikipedia;
Ash 09/10 - 45 apps - 9 goals - 16 assists 08/09 - 48 apps - 9 goals - 14 assists 07/08 - 38 apps - 9 goals - 17 assists Lennon 09/10 - 24 apps - 3 goals - 12 assists 08/09 - 47 apps - 5 goals - 10 assists 07/08 - 47 apps - 3 goals - 10 assists So Ash scores more than Lennon and makes more assists. As for the not so good comment at the highest level, that makes me laugh!! He doesn't play for England as he doesn't play up North or in London FACT, hence why it took Barry so long to get in the England team. Agreed Ash must stay, I don't think we can replace him, but Milner can go if he wants, Delph will be a better player given time. Ash can create that bit of magic, that quality cross, and can play left, right or behind the striker, so he needs to stay at Villa. Yes must be terrible knowing at the start of the season that you will be battling for 4th place, while finishing 6th, and playing at Wembley twice last season. Don't forget we have been pushing for 4th for 3 seasons now, if we can keep improving the squad we can still do that this season, plus hopefully have a good cup run. UTV!!! |

doesnt play up north or in london FACT?
Hart Baines warnock james milner heskey young just ISNT good enough so dont use the old doesnt play up north or in london as an excuse coz you still had three players in the squad. FACT. |
|
By:
Emile Heskey is a Jonah. Not only doesn't he score , he drags his teammates assist records down. I am convinced my nan could score more than Heskey if she just hung around the penalty box for 38 games and toe poked everything that came near her towards goal.

By:
Young is the FINEST winger in Britain. Lennon can only dream that one day he might be fit to clean ASHLEY's boots.
|
|
By:
Capello's a kn0b. He took Villa's THIRD best winger to the world cup.

Hart - Plays for Man City, was North last time i looked.
Baines - Wasn't in the WC Squad, but Liverpool is still north warnock - Ok, but only in the squad as Baines didn't go. james - Not london but South milner - OK heskey - Ok, but no longer in the team, and most wouldn't have taken him anyway. Good points, but the point is still valid, if Young played for Spurs he would have gone to the WC. SWP went to the WC and he isn't fit to polish Young's boots, but who does he play for??? young just ISNT good enough so dont use the old doesnt play up north or in london as an excuse coz you still had three players in the squad. FACT. - We will see this season when Young once again gets 8/9 goals and 15 assists. Lets see how the other wingers do. |
|
By:
Corky - I agree 100%.

hart is officially a man city player but played for birmingham when he earned his place in the squad. Lennon is already a much better player (only since the last year when his final ball has improved) and he still has another two years to improve before he is youngs age.
basically, everyone knows that over the last 18mths lennon has improved massively and young has gone fully downhill. see my comment above with regards to hart who was just down the road from your lot too. |
|
By:
The Lennon Young debate, while a good one, shouldn't really happen, as if England are playing 2 wingers, should/could use Lennon on the right and Young on the left.
Young hasn't gone downhill, he has been pretty consistent year on year. Fact of the matter is that Milner put in better crosses from the right wing at the WC than Lennon, and he is the 3rd/4td best crosser at Villa. I rate Young, Downing and Albrighton as better crossers of the ball than Milner. |
