England doesn't have a national anthem. GSTQ is the GB national anthem. We should have our own and a few have been suggested.
Jerusalem Land of Hope and Glory. |

There is NO English national anthem. God Save The Queen is the national anthem of The United Kingdom.
|
|
By:
GSTQ is rare in anthems in that it praises the monarch. Most praise the country in question.

Can some nice English guys compose a song for Iraqis and Afghans?
"God save the Iraqis and Afghans" That will be a nice song |
|
By:
The fact that the Monarch is the focus of English Patriotism, rather than the state is much better. Less chance of a real extremist taking charge.

Why is it God? This isn't the dark ages. Everyone knows god is a load of made up b0ll0cks, there to control the people.
On another note, Jerusalem goes through me every time. Remember the days of boarding school, 300 people belting that out, makes your hairs stand on end. |

By:
No, mixed school and i'm not gay. I went to a normal college afterwards and assume from my experience there, that you wouldn't have sung such a song in an old echoey chapel. It was a good experience, although my only one in a religious building... being a dedicated atheist.

So if God is a load of made up b0llocks, why does a song about Jesus coming to England so good then? Surely that's even higher on the b0llocks scale? |
