5/1 massive, pmsl, thank goodness there are people like you on betfair GrinGrinGrin

Another who seems to think that just "signing players for £30m" means that they will win the title, I'd lay 25/1 all day long Laugh

ok i will have as much as you want to lay at 25/1 please.  The title gets bought Chelsea did it Blackburn did it and City will do it.

massive difference is both had superb managers (at the time in blackburns case) and the best players/squad

city have neither.. the squad isnt any better than spurs or even liverpools when everyone is fit and citys first eleven is no better than either sides to be honest..  5s is a joke price before united, chelsea and arsenal potentially spend money.. the fact ppl back it is quite frightening

"ok i will have as much as you want to lay at 25/1 please"

Ermmmmmm thanks....but no, I'd prefer to lay 5/1, ta very much LaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaugh
Report Graveyboat2 July 12, 2010 1:15 AM BST
The difference is simple City can buy 5 or 6 players now or during the window - Arsenal have a wage restriction, Man U are skint so it only leaves City or Chelsea.  As for the current price surely you 2 know better than the whole betting industry, and must have laid this ? City could buy anyone and everyone so good luck with your lays
Report Graveyboat2 July 12, 2010 1:19 AM BST
I would lay 25's ? Ok show us you bets or are you just all mouth, surely this must be one of your biggest ever bets if you would lay 5 times current price
Report morrissey July 12, 2010 1:20 AM BST
city cant buy the 5 or 6 players they want though... kaka proved this to you and so did some other no mark this summer who virtually asked who city were..

the real great players dont want to join city. silva is a dud imo and im proper glad it wasnt true we wanted him. like a little white SWP.. headless chicken who runs about a lot and will do one good thing every 5 matches and be the next paul lake or franny lee etc etc

graveyboat pre world cup did you think england were a 7or 8/1 shot? cos the betting industry did and does that mean they were right then?

because i saw a shyte load of ppl on here telling me they werent so what does all that mean? other than the betting industry knows that there are plenty of mugs who will back city at those prices and why not rather than lay them at their real price which is prob about 20s
Report turtleshead July 12, 2010 1:23 AM BST
"The difference is simple City can buy 5 or 6 players now or during the window"

Again, as I have said many times before, simply buying a player for £30m means the square root of f*ck all. (other than for the side which sells him, who are laughing all the way to the bank)

"As for the current price surely you 2 know better than the whole betting industry, and must have laid this?"

The same betting industry that had England at 5 or 6/1 joint second favourites for the World Cup Confused

I said at the time that was shocking value, well, this is actually worse, in fact it's the worst price in the history of betting. By quite some way. Anyone who takes it should just give up gambling now.

"City could buy anyone and everyone"

No, they won't buy anyone who is of real quality, as they are not in the CL.

"so good luck with your lays"

Thanks, but luck is not needed in cases like this, just a basic knowledge of the game Cool
Report Shaky July 12, 2010 1:24 AM BST
how did citeh get on trying to buy their way into the CL last season?
Report Graveyboat2 July 12, 2010 1:29 AM BST
As for players not knowing who City are, sure they wont be bothered if they are paying them 150k a week, and soon as they get 1 world class player the rest will follow. Sure alot of players who 1st joined Chelsea hadnt heard of them since they hadnt won league for years.
Iwould suggest that there are more winners in the industry backing City than laying them, most with a view to lay off before season starts.

Report morrissey July 12, 2010 1:33 AM BST
city wont get under 5.0 imo and who on earth truly thinks they will hit 5/2 pre season lol must be fking deluded or retarded

kaka told you to stick your money up your ar5e, im trying to think of the other one.. was it maicon? said city had NO CHANCE of buying him.. tevez will fk off soon if the rumours in manchester are to be believed :)

"and soon as they get 1 world class player the rest will follow"

For the umpteenth time, why would a "world class player" want to play in the Europa League please Confused

Keep backing your 25/1s at a fifth of the price, there's a good chap, makes my task of winning money on here very easy indeed Love
Report morrissey July 12, 2010 1:34 AM BST
oh and that well know pillar of society and not-at-all-all-round-greedy-cnt john terry also turned down your alleged 200k+ a week wage offer lol not even he wanted to lower himself that much

They missed out - so like Chelsea did they spend more because money is not an issue.  As for Champs league i am sure a player will not mind missing out for 1 season to take home 50k a week more than he was currently on.
Money makes the world go round laying City is madness, they may not win it and you could all be right but they will trade alot shorter than 5/1 more than likely before a ball is kicked

if city trade a LOT SHORTER ill be surpised.. but they are already shorter than 5/1 you fool..  city will not win the league this season, ill be shocked if they finish in the top four still.. why do they suddenly think that they will>? because they have david silva lol id have a guess benayoun will have a bigger impact at chelsea.. and id have any money on a goals/match bet that el chicharito will score more for united than he does too...

but i am tempted to just keep layign city with small enough amounts and when the season is on too..
Report Graveyboat2 July 12, 2010 1:52 AM BST
you dont have to just use betfair, 5/1 with at least 7 bookies.  Try oddschecker sometime. It is not the fact that they have signed anyone it is the fact they are can sign anyone, which some of the top teams can't.  Silva good addition to the squad, comparing him with Benayoun is laughable.
Report morrissey July 12, 2010 2:06 AM BST
they CAN SIGN ANYONE.. such as going back to berbs when we signed him, kaka the season after, then terry and even that money grabbing tw@ said no.. who else.. maicon has already said no.. torres wont join and city are or were after him..

so how come they can suddenly sign who they want but these players said ..... nope? even tevez was begging united to sign him even though city had an offer on the table for months waiting..

for a club like them no...  they wont get hardly any of the players they want if anyone half decent comes in for them instead ... like i said thats the greatthing about city having money it makes it even more amusing when they win fk all.

although they are like red scousers.. they laugh at united 'just' winning the league cup last year.. theyd kill for it this year and champs league football

out of interest when man city get champs league football, why would any right minded footballer sign for man utd ahead of man city?

because they have a right mind for one.. untied will always be bigger and better and better supported than city.. simple as that. same as why berbs signed for us when you offered him loads more..

then i expect serious title push in 11/12 season

25's turtle! You sure.. any other country a club with this amount of spending power woud be a 4/1 chance.. im not saying they'll win it and im not a City fan or someone desperately tryin to talk them up but as a title contender they will become more and more of a threat. Inevitable.

and modern football is different from the 80's etc when there was less between each clubs financial power and being the biggest spender didnt guarantee anything, remember Man Utd unde rAtkinson.. Arsenal too in those days, seemed to be mid table all the time well below likes of Watford. But now its different and to be honest i hate it.

Man City @ 5/1 is utter madness. You really would need to be off your nut to get involved for that price. It would probably need to be ten times that before I even considered taking a slice. The title will be going to Old Trafford or back to the Bridge this season, mark my words.

If I had the money to be tied up all year, I would gladly lay this to the hilt for all the idiots who think it's great value for money.

Report Monkey Boy:The Directors Cut July 14, 2010 12:20 PM BST
I think they will win the title this year. And have backed accordingly - when the odds were much better.

The correlation between money spent and success too strong for even Man City to threaten.

They have signed 3 top notch players on top of a very strong squad already. With more to follow.

You'd actually make more money if you laid at 25.0.  Assuming you had a big enough bank to cover it.

I for one (and countless others) would take you on at that price.  I wouldn't at 5.0.
