I remember when Bert Trautman played on with a broken neck !!!!

The world cup final 1990 with klinsmann falling over was the turning point. That was the generation of diving really begining in earnest.
I reckon the British players were about 10 years behind, but not any more.

It was so bad I used to tiptoe past my TV in case he fell over.
