DARREN FERGUSON has been sacked as manager of Peterborough United.
The Posh are bottom of the Championship having taken just 11 points from their opening 16 matches. A 3-1 loss to Newcastle on Saturday was the final nail in Ferguson's coffin, and chairman Darragh MacAnthony has decided to wield the axe at London Road. The Scot's dismissal comes as somewhat of a surprise considering he led the club to back-to-back promotions in each of his two full seasons in charge. I actually think he has lost the plot, right from the first few games it was obvious that the defence is not good enough for the the championship, no plan B up front.
Money talks in the lower leagues and Fergie was fortunate he had loads. His signings are questionable and l think there is more to this than meets the eye. As i said l would not be surprised if he turned up at Hull or has another job already lined up. |
