Liverpool seem.. dare i say it, strong competition for Birmingham in this one. Torres looks like he'll start and if Benitez has any sense he will start Aquilani who should provide Fernando the ammunition.

Birmingham have been reasonably OK lately, so no bet for me.

What is L,Pools likely back 4 with Carragher and Degen suspended?
Report Jammer • November 9, 2009 12:03 PM GMT
aurellio and skrtel are back
Report henry09 • November 9, 2009 12:15 PM GMT
after reading the interview benitez had on the liverpol site.. sounds like aquilani wont start.. torres seemed doubtful from what eh said also

Brum played well last week against city.

Have to see the Liverpool starting line up before making any decisions.
Report Sir Digby Chicken Caesar • November 9, 2009 12:17 PM GMT
I know Liverpool not been in great form but surely they'll beat Brum at home easily.

Torres a possible starter too.

3 or 4-0 imo.
Report adybabybaby • November 9, 2009 12:26 PM GMT
with the amount of lpool players missing the brummies could get something
Report Handles • November 9, 2009 1:30 PM GMT
I wouldnt be suprised to see Torres on the bench tonight. He's been left out of the spain squad today - more than likely at the request of Liverpool saying he needs 3 weeks rest. They can't have it both ways, eithe he needs rest or he's ok. If he starts tonight del Bosque will be seriously pi**ed and within his rights to call him up.

At 1.37, I'm laying and will see how the opening 20 mins go.
Report viva el presidente! • November 9, 2009 1:37 PM GMT
liverpool at home 4-0-1
brum away 1-0-4

1.36/7 pool actually looks a decent bet to me when you get past the understandable urge to revel in their misfortune.

1.37 :0

Jesus christ.

Gerrard missing, Carragher banned. Torres not fit.

That is a price I couldnt touch.

I would make them a 1.5 shot.

Their confidence is at an all time low.

If Birmingham defend properly I could easily see a 0-0.

liverpool will be more motivated for this game than brum - no pressure on brum to even avoid defeat, whereas benitez really needs this.

my guess,

*torres starts and is taken off rather than starts on bench,
*liverpool win 2-0
Report delz • November 9, 2009 2:22 PM GMT
Not saying it won't happen, but putting a correct score 2 market up when not even Madrid have had one against Alcorcon until halftime is a bit ... uhm ... optimistic?. To say the least, really. And, 1.36 to win the match? My arse! Even though they might be motivated and are pretty likely to win this match, couldn't back a team that failed to score against the likes of Stoke at home last season, when everything looked a "little" better.
Report maverick • November 9, 2009 2:32 PM GMT
"no pressure on brum to even avoid defeat, whereas benitez really needs this"

surely that is an advantage to Birmingham rather than Liverpool

Report Madmann • November 9, 2009 3:07 PM GMT
Torres not in the squad, where you getting that from? BBC say late fitness test.
Report nortons • November 9, 2009 3:24 PM GMT
Normally reliable source on Liverpool forum has stated no Torres,Gerrard on bench.
Report A Reasoned View • November 9, 2009 3:28 PM GMT
I just can't believe the demand for Liverpool here today - why back teams who are generally not getting results - the trend is your friend etc - on the scores any unquoted is currently being backed off the boards 5.1 currently. OK Liverpool should win but I can see it being a tight game say 1-0 or 2-1 espec. with the doubt over Torres/Gerrard - we'll see...
Report Can't Catch Me • November 9, 2009 3:30 PM GMT
Agree entirely with you Resoned View... Tight scrappy game, few goals for me too. As usual, alot depende on what Brum want out of the game. If they come for a 0-0 they could well get one
Report The Malady Lingers On... • November 9, 2009 3:31 PM GMT
i think the unquoted is being backed because most people thinking it will be a walkover, i have to agree i see 4-0 or 5-0 but liverpool might just nick one...
Report wallboy • November 9, 2009 3:33 PM GMT
people see pool at home ,think certain win.think they should win but not at that price, give it 10 mins reality kicks in.
Report A Reasoned View • November 9, 2009 3:34 PM GMT
I can only see those who are backing Liverpool to be looking through the all red crystal ball - then those same people wonder why they can't make gambling pay! Definitely more value going against the trend here in my eyes. OK it might not come off tonight but that's where the value is and in the long term value wins.
Report wallboy • November 9, 2009 3:36 PM GMT
agree, pool could win 4,5 nil but could also be a battle and brum nick 1-0
Report henry09 • November 9, 2009 3:38 PM GMT
gotta give birmingham some credit, i dont think their defense (especially vs liverpools attack) will be smashed to smitherines. It'll be tight, i reckon a lay of liverpool then price will rise when it gets to 25 with no goal
Report big-game-player • November 9, 2009 3:39 PM GMT
liverpool are the worst price of the season tonight i think.. if torres gerrard and carragher are missing..

they are a lay in any mans book i think.

absolute goalfest, brum counter attackiing willy nilly down both flanks.we all know liverpool dont like it up em,6 or 7 goals,4-3 to either team.
Report marychain1 • November 9, 2009 3:47 PM GMT
Some massive prices around tonight. Can see a very tight and deadly dull match. Brum dont score many but they are solid, and they have caused teams problems recently. 1-0 0-0 or 0-1 imo

1-0 Brum @ 40
Bowyer @ 36
Draw/Birmingham @ 32
Half Time 0-0 @ 3.7
Report fouraces • November 9, 2009 5:08 PM GMT
Benitez never managed a winning league side against Brum.

Blues have a decent recent record against The Reds at Anfield.

At current prices got to lay Liverpool.
Report Jimbo747 • November 9, 2009 5:12 PM GMT
Lay of pool, with a 1-0 saver. Can't see there being many goals, if any, in this tbh.

Cue 5-5 ;)
