says the Drogba incident with Brown is part of the game!!

So it is ok for a player to deliberately pull a players shirt to gain an advantage??

Funny,i thought it was a foul.

unfortunatlt the ex ref is right, unless it's absolutely blatent it's let go now.

if the laws were applied to the letter, thered never be a goal scored from a corner or free kick knocked into the box.

dont give a monkeys about free kick or the goal, just the refs views!!

there were half a dozen worse examples of pushing and pulling [both sides at fault] in that game that went unpunished.

Wes Brown dived , would nt see JT go down like that ,just part of the normal scrimmaging in the box for set peices, that is why he plays right back .

Should not allow a goal when its as blatant as that though!!

correct ah hunter...and by diving placed himself nicely on the floor to enable drogba to be onside...

unless of course the refs right!! it is ok to pull someone down in the box!!

bud

as i said there were far worse things going on at previous set pieces. but this one has been highlighted because a goal was scored.

if the ref penalised that sort of pull/push anytime it occured in the area ,there would be half a dozen penalties per match.

the penalty against valencia was the worst decision... the foul on brown was just what happens in a game imo...

brown went down very easy, no foul

the "penalty" shout is very similar. happens every game.

do you want a pen awarded everytime vidic does a similar thing?

mex, does that make it ok then?? i have seen players getting booked for deliberately pulling a shirt, but in the area where it could result in a goal,a penalty or stop a goal, its ok?? Bl00dy stupid !!

of course it's stupid, and the authorities allied with the refs are the only ones that can do something about it. but you can't turn a blind eye to defenders doing it, then penalise forwards for lesser challenges.

Seems simple to me,if ref sees a foul he gives a free kick or penalty,if he has to give a load so be it,they will soon stop if they know they cant get away with it!!
