is there any reason why i shouldn't lump on Sevilla at 1.59? Villarreal yet to win away from home, Sevilla yet to lose. A lay of Villarreal at least looks nailed on

Fancy Villareal to nick something here. Performances are much improved, some of their football is sublime and they are putting away the chances now. Even when they were losing, they were playing well, just slack at the back.

I don't like Sevilla's odds so I'm not having a bet on them before the game, but I don't really buy into that "Villarreal have improved" cr*p. Yes, they beat Lazio Roma 4 - 1 last Thursday, but I watched the first half hour of that match and I kept thinking to myself that there was something odd about it. I obviously , but I felt the referee at times went to great lengths to make sure that Villarreal were not going to lose that match.
So not taking that result into account, that leaves us with Villarreal beating Málaga and Tenerife -- the former not doing well at all this season (bottom of the table with 5 points out of 10 matches) and the latter a notorious underperformer when playing away from home. Away from home, here is what Villarreal have achieved thus far: Xerez CD 2 - 1 Villarreal CF Deportivo La Coruña 1 - 0 Villarreal CF Athletic Club Bilbao 3 - 2 Villarreal CF Club Atlético Osasuna 1 - 1 Villarreal CF Sevilla, on the other hand, got off to a much better start: Sevilla FC 0 - 0 CD Espanyol Sevilla FC 2 - 1 Real Madrid Sevilla FC 2 - 0 Real Mallorca Sevilla FC 4 - 1 Real Zaragoza The draw against CD Espanyol came after their Champions League away match against VfB Stuttgart, and it is often the case that teams don't perform as well the weekend after a European round. I also wouldn't read too much into the fact that Sevilla drew with VfB Stuttgart in the Champions League; they were far superior in the first half, got the early goal and let Stuttgart take over in the second half. All they needed was a point to qualify, they got the job done without overextending (?) themselves. Anyway, I think Sevilla will win this, but instead of backing the match odds for a large sum, I'm going to try dutching/hedging or whatever it is called the Correct Score with a smaller stake: 2 - 0 @ 8.6 3 - 0 @ 15.0 3 - 1 @ 15.0 I've never done this type of bet before, so I'm not going to put the wife and kids on just yet, but I'm feeling pretty confident about it. So long as the sailors on the submarine don't all of a sudden go all superman on me, I should be safe. ;) |
