When playing omaha tonight (Hand id 44702814), hand 2 which had the cards 8 8 9 6 went to 1.01 after the flop, as the flop was  a strange 999, giving it 4 of a kind.

As expected, hands 3 and 4 were eliminated but hand 1 (Kd 10d Qs 2d) was still in the game (at odds of 520 ish).

I wondered why this hand had not been eliminated also, but, after glancing at the cards I realised that if a Jack of diamonds came out next, then hand 1 would have a potential straight flush, which would beat the 4 of a kind.

I then thought to myself that it is a guarantee that the next card to come out will be the jack of diamonds and much to my surprise (NOT) the jack of diamonds pops out meaning that all of a sudden, hand 2 which had flopped 4 of a kind had a chance of losing.

My point being is that situations like this occur so many times. You can predict with a fairly high degree of accuracy what card/what suit will be coming out next.

The hands seem to be programmed to maximise the amounts bet on them each round.

Usually, you end up at the river stage where 1 hand has a striaght draw, one has a flush draw. one will have 2 pairs (potential full house draw), then the final hand which has just a pair will end up hitting trips and winning.

Obv this occurs in real omaha but no where near to the percentages that it occurs on here.

Play these games at your own peril!
