It's about a year since I lost touch with this_is_fun, the programmer who developed the Amoeba bot for exchange games. As I can no longer support it and the support period has expired for all those who bought it, I decided to make it available for free in an unrestricted version. Download it from https://sth-se.diino.com/saucebook/amoeba freebie (yes that is a space in the URL, but it seems to work!)

I included a few saved game files to get people started on testing by using the simulation features, the quickest way to refine your strats. I also allow uploading to the folder in case anyone wants to upload more saved games files. If you plan to load .opt parameter files you should edit out your userid and password first.

All looks pretty intuitive to me, but maybe I'm too close to it. I think you can still get the user guide from amoebabot.com

This act of unprecedented generosity was actually sparked by someone finding the amoebabot website and sending me a paypal payment, whereupon I realised that I couldn't be doing with the liability of selling something I couldn't support.

So heed the warning - supplied for strategy testing purposes only. Has not been updated in over a year. May lose you money if you use it in live mode!!! I will not be responsible when it does so. Enjoy....

Will the developer not mind? Surely this is not the best idea!

Don't worry - he supplied me with the source code and gave his blessing to whatever joint ventures or other use I could make of it. Speaking of which, if anyone knows Java and is interested in further developing Amoeba, do get in touch with your ideas... would be nice to rename it Phoenix!

Just for the record, the original message was cross-posted to thebotfarm.com and the news page on botforum.net. But you heard it here first.

I can report that it still works reliably, even without any updates for a while, but it doesn't feature that ridiculous card racing game.

Thanks for this and thanks for bringing the thread to the top.

I don't play X games very often and had never used a bot but have had great fun with this today.

Set some paramaters for omaha hi and have a 22 - 0 winning record so far.

I know it wont last but its been fun!

What is x feeder, is it a more sophisticated bot?
