I haven't been on this forum for a while but back in 2008 there were a few consistent daily earners who managed to find a strategy over months of backtesting.
One arrogant chap you may know is YLB, who claimed to be earning around a few hundred pounds daily using his bot.
There was jigz, not sure if he found a strategy.
And a few others.
Not sure if YLB is still earning that kind of money these days, or maybe the exchange games has got the better of him.

These days all i read mostly is the amount of money people lose on these games and cursing betfair.
I am sure there are a few daily earners. Maybe 1% winners compared to 99% losers.

Well I think there probably are some.
From my experience to be on a winning side you must follow these rules:

1) Aim small (i.e. 20€ winning daily)
2) Try to find an at least 60% backing strategy (6 wins out of 10 games)
3) Or try to find an at least 92% laying strategy
4) Aim small
5) Don't be greedy ;)
6) Don't try to be on the winning side every day (learn when to cut your losses)
7) Don't expect the bot you've programmed to do everything...interfere with your human logic! (if you know how to use it :) )

Following these you can make a small profit almost every day and a decent profit (not to substitute your daily job of course) even over a longer period of time.

I personally have a laying strategy of some 91-92% (calculated from betfair historical data) and try to do 2-3 wins a day for a 20€ profit and a liability of max 50€. If I lose (and I do) - I try to spread the loss recuperation over the next few days so I don't have a large liability for a single bet.

Really ?
You say that I " arrogantly " claimed that fact a few years ago.
I think if you check your records more closely, you will more correctly see that I claimed to be aware of another person who appeared quite truthfully to be earning such monies.
I never claimed to be that person ( unfortunately for me ).
As far as I am aware that other person is still turning over good profits.
Exactly how much I'm not really up to date with as, to be quite honest, it just became too damn depressing to always be checking in with him on his ongoing success.
However, one important related matter I would like to address is this apparent obsession that nearly everyone seems to have with making a certain amount per day or per session or per whatever ( say if a certain target has been reached etc ).
My acquaintance's bettng system is a completely objective operation, that is it is done with a totally hands off bot that runs 24/7. Absolutely no interference or tinkering by him ever, no matter what is happening in what time period, good or bad.
He doesn't earn a certain amount per day, he simply averages a certain amount when his accumulated long term results are smoothed out at the average speed of the game(s) he is playing, say approx 20-25 games per hour.
I know for a fact that he can, and does, go for very long periods without really winning anything ( say even as long as 2 months) and then will go into very short, sharp upward profit periods. He experiences very extended flat or small losing streaks, which he just rides out withour fear or consequence.
Most importantly he never actually starts or stops his bot for anything. Note this is not the same as saying that he bets on every game. He doesn't. He bets on only about 10 %.
People on here who claim to be reaching certain winning targets day in day out are not just credible.
That is not how betting on random sequences of numbers will ever work out. The time frame of a few hrs or 24 hrs is just too short for winning sequences to overcome losing ones always and regularly, at least on a flat bet basis.
You must approach the games to try to win an average over a very long period, not a certain amount in a relatively short period.

Why not just learn how to play proper poker? Exchange games are for retards.

Live4. You're correct, it is not for everyone. Maybe those that have done months/years of backtesting and even then can still lose.

YLB: I'm surprised you claim that it is not you earning that kind of money. You were and still are rather smug like Simon Cowell. So why the insults at the majority of the forum members.

I assumed at the time that your bot was doing all the work, hence felt like insulting others who were losing. If only i could trace back your posts back to 2008 where you claim to be earning with no work on your part.

Does this mean that you don't earn much now on these games these days?

No atiboy, with me it never ever has been or will be about what I personally do or don't do on Xgames.
It is just about debunking the claims of success ( or the opposite type claims of losses due to fixing) of others on here, when those claims are not credible for whatever objective, rational reasons.
That's all, nothing else.
If you think that makes me feel or sound smug then that's your prerogative.
How about this for smug though ?.
I'm too rich already to bother about whether I make money on the games or not.
Nice eh ?

YLB is the voice of reason, so it's only natural that the majority of xgame patrons don't wish to view his wisdom :D

Looks as good a thread as any to say welcome back to xgames YLB haha
