Hi. Can anyone clear up the payouts for tied hands in bj please.

Suppose lay player 1 £10 @ 5.0 and player 1 ties with the dealer what would be the profit/loss for player 1?

Then suppose again lay player 1 £10 @ 5.0 and both player 1 and player 2 tie with the dealer, again what would be the profit/loss for player 1

In both cases, you win back your stake minus your stake multiplied by half the odds.
That is, in your example,
10-(10*2.5) = -15
