Nice to see a thread, I hope it continues theough the tournament, it used to be a fantastic crack. Although in the top half, De Decker at 40 is well worth a punt. He's now a proven winner and should have beaten Littler but for the boos when throwing for the winning double.

The overall standard has been pish so far (apart from a completely random 9-darter). Most games being won with 80-something averages. Although I think I said something similar two years ago. Painful to watch the likes of Wright and Aspinall throwing all over the shop and still somehow scraping through.
|

Well, that's more like it. Rydz in from 1000 to 100 after averaging 107 while winning his 1st round match in about 25 mins. He had a good run in 2022 before losing 5-4 to the eventual champ in the QFs.
|
By:
It’s always a poor standard before Xmas. Hard to get fully in to nowadays early on. Rydz was superb. Shocked to wake up this morning and see Smith is out, even though he hasn’t been the same player since winning this.
|
By:
The final set of the Smith game was great but if the Dutch guy hadn't missed so many doubles it wouldn't have gone that far. Smith didn't have the recent form to have a good run here and was priced accordingly although I saw the Racing Post made him their pick.

This Burton Vs Merkx is really poor.

This match is much better. It’s self preservation at this stage.

What's happening to darts? Nijman's BMI must be about 15 kg/m2. Quite funny how he's too tall for some of Sky's fixed camera shots.

Remember when this would have already been page 10. Shame how the whole forum is dying.... year by year.

Heta 9 darter out of nowhere after a poor start against Woodhouse.
|
By:
Heta played very well for a couple of sets after the 9 but then completely hit the wall.

By:
Hit the nine and lose the game seems to be the pattern so far.

Snakebite suddenly finds top form after being barely able to hit the board all the season - takes care of the reigning champ.

Got Humphries biting at the build-up.

Hoping for a great final tonight. Be good for the sport if Luke can get it over the line. Though he still has a way to go to match The Crafty Potter.
|
By:
this is the final we wanted.....should be a great match.......that was a brilliant comment from MVG from a pretty stupid question.....
|
By:
Premier League lineup announced on Monday. Humphries, Littler, MVG and Cross apparently in automatically as the top 4 in the rankings. Bunting at #5 is probably fairly safe after his run here. Michael Smith has slumped to #16 but still box office. Price has probably done just about enough after beating one of the other possibles (Clayton) here. Wright and Anderson probably haven't done enough to overcome recent Premier League (non-)showings. I'd guess Dobey for the final spot.

Hope MVG beats the bearded middle aged teenager

i think mvg looks the value at 3.35 -thats very big for a three time world champ v a virtual newcomber - all be it a very very good one
i wonder what price taylor wd have been v him a few years back never 3.35 for sure |
