It would be a hell of a story if the qualifier were to bring down the curtain on Taylor's career, but PT will pose a very different threat to those Lewis has faced so far this tournament. It's a no bet for me to begin with, but I could be persuaded if Lewis starts well.
Both MVG and Cross could have been knocked out of the tournament yesterday. I've not liked what I've seen from Cross in either of his last two matches, and I would be surprised if MVG doesn't ultimately prevail, but I don't want to play at the current prices. Sit on your hands, IMHO. |

Mike van Gerwen & Philip Douglas Taylor.
(CS predictions 6-3 Mike and 6-2 Philip) |

I generally agree with Latalomne. In any match other than a world championship semi Jamie Lewis is a big price (even though he's shortened up a bit) against Taylor but can he handle the pressure, crowd and gamesmanship. If he plays somewhere around his tournament average thus far it will be a very close game.
Neither MVG nor Cross impressed in the last round but think prices about right. Expect MVG to come through. |

I think Taylor needs to keep his mind on the job tonight as he took a few liberties last night and got away with them..just !
By:
Think Taylor and MVG will meet in the final.
Cross can give MVG some trouble as he has done in recent meetings but would expect 6-4 or maybe 6-5. Taylor will find it much easier imo, think Lewis will find it too much tonight and if he doesn't win the first set I can see a whitewash. |

By:
yeh I agree, can see lewis chucking in an absolute stinker 2nite, hes going to be overwhelmed with the situation
By:
for me, MVG and taylor double for as much as I can get on!
By:
taylor 1.28
all have some off that |
By:
I agree with Taylor, think he'll have too much. However, if I think the MVG game will be a lot closer. MVG should have lost last night and should have been 3-2 down against Price. He's not playing as well as he can and I dont think Cross is the type of guy to buckle. Good luck all.

By:
hcap double for me tonight lewis/cross both +3.5
looking forward to the SFs |
By:
thought lewis would be 5/2-3/1 personally think pushing 7/2 is taking the p1ss a little the way he's played
& mvg is below the standard of a year ago but so is everybody else it seems, think cross's scoring will win him a few sets |
By:
Lewis is still an unknown despite his performances so far in this tournament. If he plays to the same level that he has so far, he has a good chance of winning. I think you know what you'll get with Cross, it's all about how MVG plays for me, and he looks very nervous imo.

MVG is a lay however i dont have the balls to do so

G do you think really bad dart players can average 100+ over long set matches multiple times
coz I don't |

By:
*done nothing in his life in darts
By:
why do u think hes never got anywhere in any tv tournament? hes not a great player, fair play to him tho, hes had a great heater here
By:
But that streak can continue?
By:
it can, but he has to beat phil taylor in a very long format, I just cant see a way he does it
By:
but as I say its all about opinions!
By:
I'm not disagreeing with you, I think Taylor wins. Just that it wouldn't surprise me if Lewis plays well again
By:
never said a great player just think suggesting he's a really bad player on a hot streak is unfair
he's 26 and qualified to get here, give people a chance if he was 40 and done nothing else in his darts career and qualified to get here then yes you have a point |
By:
jamie lewis has been on the tour sine he was 16/17, hes old in darting terms
By:
he has to beat phil taylor in a very long format, I just cant see a way he does it
the shortest I could have lewis is 5/2 so I agree with you |
By:
it would be only right for Taylor's last ever match to be the final of the world championship
By:
there's an aging curve in professional sport & darts is no different
players don't peak in their teens, the average player peaks in their mid to late 20s imo |

Grant C King with his hop tip tonight;
Taylor + MVG double Where does he get such imaginative bets from? No wonder the bookies are running scared! |
