Well it all got a bit exciting last night and Michael Smith has blew open the tournament for everybody else. I'm getting quite excited about seeing Lori's new haircut too now that the draw has opened up for Snakebite

Opening match sees the ultimate streetfighter who cannot be beaten take on the former boxer who would give him a good fight
I didn't see Hamilton's opening match but he seemed to win quite comfortably as expected. Burnett on the other hand was really good in his win over Winstanley but he's extremely unpredictable and you could easily see him averaging mid 80's tonight. I am going to have a small bet on Burnett though as I priced him up around the 7/4 mark and I think 12/5 is just a bit too big.
Recommendation: 0.5pt win Richie Burnett @ 12/5 (Sporting)

Second match sees a hot favourite in Thornton take on Beau Anderson who caused a minor shock in R1 beating Colin Lloyd. Thornton wasn't particularly impressive in R1 but did enough to get through and you'd think the longer matches will now play to his strengths a bit. Anderson on the other hand came through a close encounter v Lloyd but I wasn't really impressed with him. He looks an 85 average man at best but I doubt that is going to be enough to trouble Thornton. Looked for a bet here but really struggling to find one so will sit this out.
Recommendation: No Bet

Last game of the night promises to be a good one hopefully featuring some high scoring. Huybrechts beat his brother Ronnie in R1 in what could only be described as a very nervy and strange game. He did ok to come through it and I feel he will improve for getting over this hurdle. White played really well in his opening win and survived his opponent hitting a 9 dart finish against him. He's usually pretty consistent round the treble 20 and I'm hoping that will continue tonight. The bet I like here is overs on the 180's as both are capable and I can see this going 6 or 7 sets. I think the price is lower than it would be as both didn't hit many in R1 but I'm hoping thats merely a blip.
Recommendation: 1pt win over 12.5 maxes @ Evs (General)
Summary: Couple of bets tonight for me and hopefully get things back on track. Looking forward to 2 of the games too so fingers crossed for some decent matches and good banter. All bets and thoughts welcome from all.

Oddly enough some of the biggest choking was from Smith last night. Three darts to take one of the sets at d20 nearly went in the wall.

White put his hand to his ear when he won the match. Same happened after the 6th set.

Thought i had played a blinder laying White there,covered my red when Kim levelled it and ended up with nowt,could ave been worse i suppose.
Really can't understand the flak Huybrechts is getting on here...he always come across as a gent in his interviews, even when he's lost - that's a huge plus in my book.
I feel a tad fortunate to have got my 6.5+ maxes bet in with Kim but I'll take it

I thought White was flattered by a 3-0 lead but Huybrechts got his head down and stepped on the gas...he probably felt like Mardle against Kirk Shepherd in thinking he had it won when he levelled it!
That's goodbye to my 80/1 bet in the outrights on the Belgian but to be fair, White deserved to win after being hauled back...his doubling through the entire match was solid - he was dogged throughout and for me, I was very disappointed with Hubrechts performance...even at 3-3 when I thought he was gonna edge it.
How low did Kim go I/R and what price was White when he led 3-0?
PS - as for tomorrow's fare...although Dolan is poo on the maxes, he should have at least 6 sets to hit just four 180's and that's solid at 4/6 unless Gary goes berserk as he sometimes does to scupper my bets!

Cracking game last night thought White did really well. As people said his level didn't really drop just Kim upped his game.
Have a look at Burnett's interview on the PDC website I was chuckling away. Asked the guy when he was playing and got told the 27th. He said thats gutting I'm gonna miss out on Boxing day with my mates. Two days I love are Boxing Day and Bonfire Night but i'm gonna miss out. Ahh well never mind
NG: White hit 1.1 during the 4th set. Kim went to about 1.25 after taking a 1-0 lead in the final set.
