DARTS world championships - FORUM COMPETITION - with prizes - ENTER HERE

Welcome to the Forum WORLD DARTS CHAMPIONSHIPS competition, with real money prizes for the top 3 places, courtesy of Betfair.

This competition encompasses both the PDC AND BDO versions of the championship.
It runs from Dec 14th (Friday) and January 12th – (Day of the BDO final).
Entries MUST be in by 6pm Friday, the thread will be locked after this time. – I’ll remind you again at the bottom of this post

This is how it works:

There are 12 sections.
You have to pick 1 name or number (depending on which section) for each one. The scores for each selection are listed below.
Just put the letters A to L with your choice for each – preferably going downwards, followed by a tie-break answer (Final, final score).

The people with the highest scores at the end of the tournament will win as follows: 1st - £150, 2nd - £100, 3rd - £50. To be paid direct into your BF account.
In the event of ties, the tiebreak will be operated, if there's still a tie, the prizes will be added and divided equally among those involved in the tie.

THE SECTIONS: and some details/clues
Sections A to G are PDC ONLY, sections I to L & the Tiebreak are all BDO Only, Section H is for BOTH.

A. The 1st round, what will be the score in the match between Mervyn King and Dean Winstanley?
choose from 0-3, 1-3, 2-3, 3-2, 3-1, or 3-0.Please Put MERVYN KING’S score first
Score 3 points for exact, 1 point for getting the winner right but not the score.

B.How many of these 16 players will reach the last 16 (They’re the seeds, I think)
P. Taylor, A. Hamilton, S. Whitlock, G. Anderson, A. Lewis, P. Nicholson, T. Jenkins, D. Chisnall, R van Barneveld, K. Painter, M van Gerwen, W. Newton, J. Pipe, J. Wade, M. Webster, V van der Voort.
choose a number between 0 and 16
Score 4 points for exact, 2 points for being wrong by one, 1 point for being wrong by two.

C. What Round will Simon Whitlock reach?
Please put; R1, R2, R3, QF, SF or Final
Score 2 points for being right.

D. Of the 16 second round matches, how many will be won 4-0?
Choose a number between 0 and 16 In 2012 there were 3, in 2011 there were 6
3 points if you’re correct, 1 point if you’re 1 out.

E. Will a previous winner win the title?
The previous winners in the field are: Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, Raymond Van Barneveld, John Part and Dennis Priestley.
Simply answer YES or NO
2 points if correct

F. How many 180’s will be scored in total in the 2 Semi-Finals?
2 matches, both best of 11 sets. I’ll have to watch these and count them, hopefully some of you can do the same!!!!
Just pick a likely number, I’d guess somewhere between 10 and 40, but I could be way out
Score 5 points if exact, 3 points if wrong by one, 2 points if wrong by 2, 1 point if wrong by 3

G.What will be the 3-Dart average of the winner in the final? Rounded up or down to the nearest whole %
Since 1994 it has ranged from 93 (Lewis - 2012, Part – 2008) and 110 (Taylor – 2009), the others have all been in between.
Choose a number almost certainly between 87 and 113
Score 4 points if exact, 2 points if wrong by one, 1 point if wrong by two.

H. Will there be a 9 Dart 501 in either, both or neither of the tournaments
choose PDC, BDO, BOTH or NONE
Score 2 points for being right.

Now for the BDO (BBC) version:
I. What the score be in the 1st round match between Geert De Vos and Tony Eccles?.
Best of 5 sets. choose from 3-0, 3-1, 3-2, 2-3, 1-3, 0-3. Please put De Vos's score first
Score 3 points for correct, 1 point if right winner but wrong score

J. Which of these men will progress furthest?: Christian Kist or Scott Waites? Or will they both reach the same stage?
Answer; Kist, Waites or Same
Score 2 points for correct

K. How Far will No 1 Seed Stephen Bunting (family guy) reach?
Choose from R1, R2, QF, SF or Final
Score 2 points for being right.

L. How many ENGLISH players will reach the semi finals? – There are 17 Englishmen out of the 32 players taking part
Please choose; 0,1,2,3 or 4
Score 2 points if correct

TIEBREAK: What will the score be in the BDO world championship final?
Choose from 7-0, 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4, 7-5, 7-6


OTHER STUFF
E&OE - Any ties in any sections, points shared; (eg, if the score is 2 points for 3rd, 1 point for 4th, and there's a tie for 3rd, both will score 1.5)
The organiser's (that's me) decision is final. I'll try to update scores and standings at the end of each day's play, or whenever there is updating to do.
Entries accepted until 6.00pm Friday 14th December. LATE ENTRIES CANNOT BE ACCEPTED. The thread will be closed after this time
